Hi mga guru.. tanong lng po.. i've recently unearthed an old spray gun sa garahe namin ang thought about cleaning it. nung malinis na siya at naibalik ko na lahat ng parts - i tested it sa compressor.. ang nangyayari po is kahit di ka nakapress sa trigger - may lumalabas na hangin sa nozzle... ano po kaya ang problem niya? thanks!

There is a part that is long and pointed w/c has a spring on one end called the fluid needle. The spring pushes the needle to fit tightly or shut on the pressure nozzle so that when you pull the spray gun trigger it opens and allows air to pass thru. If your needle tip has suffered wear or is not seated properly on the pressure nozzle this may be the cause of your leak. Depending on the type of spray gun you have you may encounter some with a teflon type 0-ring in the spring w/c also wears over time. There are cases where you have not been able to clear completely lodged paint material or varnishes that calcified on the nozzle tip thereby causing the misalignment. If your spray gun is suction type like Thomas and Lotus then you can easily replace the fluid needle and the pressure nozzle tip. For gravity type guns you may have difficulty looking for parts unless its a high end brand like Iwata, Sata or Devilbiss. Try to get hold of a good tip cleaner if you can. They are the same tip cleaners used in acetylene torches. Good luck.:)

Better post pics of spray gun and identify parts w/c you suspect has issues so we can advise you accurately. Also check parts w/c are threaded coz they initially came factory sealed w/ thread lockers. You might have to re-seal them again.

If it's a general purpose gun like THOMAS, or LOTUS or any similar design thereof then you may have to check your fluid tip or the air cap if it still has some lodged dried paint or varnish in it that may be the cause of your problem. These guns are designed to discharge fluid as air is pumped to the cup thru the press of the gun's trigger. The only way fluid won't come out is if the air pressure isn't sufficient or the fluid tip is clogged. Sometimes a bent or dull fluid needle also causes gun malfunction. Here's a link to a similar model w/ complete parts guide... http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/campbell-hausfeld/2z363f

Yes dapat walang lalabas kahit ano pag hindi naka press ... material nor air. Try to dis assemble your gun and clean it up thoroughly.

I think this is normal. Its a suction-type gun, right? Try loading it with water and connect it to the compressor. Even though air is coming out of the nozzle, the water should not be coming out. Water should only come out when you press the trigger.

I have a Lotus suction type and it behaves that way out of the box.

Re: Old School Spraygun

From my experience, 2 stage ang trigger. If you pull it around 10 percent ng travel pattern air lang lalabas pull it more magsisimula ng lumabas ang fluid. You might have something wrong with the seat or the seal ng air valve or the trigger rod maybe preloading the valve opening a gap.
