Re: Spray Painting Talk

Hello guys. I need help regarding my spray gun. I bought a creston HLPV two days ago. I tried to test it kanina using water only. Air comes out but no water. I tried adjusting the fluid adjustment knob but still no water comes out. The unit is new. Did I get a lemon? Should I return it?

Re: Spray Painting Talk

By all means go go go and have it replaced with a working unit. This small items can have seven days for buyers to be returned or replaced if it ain't working properly, just don't forget your purchase receipt, they'll sure ask for it as proof of your purchase.

Good Luck !!!

Re: Spray Painting Talk

Whew! Had it replaced today. Very accommodating staff. They are still willing change it if its still defective. Ok na yung replaced unit. At first, akala ko I missed a knob to be adjusted kaya walang lumabas na fluid sa spray.

Re: Spray Painting Talk

another Q dear friends:

may nakita akong Lotus Gravity spray gun (conventional) with the following specs:
ave. air consumption : 12 scfm (approx. 340 l/min)
air pressure = 70 psi
fluid delivery = 160 - 240 ml/min

ano minimum power ng air compressor para dito?

comparing to Iwata W-71 gravity spray gun (convenitional):
ave. air consumption : 8.1 cfm
air pressure = 43 psi
fluid delivery = 190 ml/min

kaya na ba ng 1/4hp air comp. etong dalawa? or si iwata lang ppwede sa 1/4hp air comp?

pasagot naman. maraming salamat. :):thanks:

Re: Spray Painting Talk

Hi bro miked,

Why settle with a very low HP air compressor, that is if you don't have one yet. I have seen here in our area that they use 1 HP air compressor for painting use, that is using ordinary spray gun or those that can be purchased at home depots or DIY Shops, Lotus or KYK brands and others.

If you are also planning to buy a VESPA compressor in the future, here's the latest price from IndustrialSupply143: I suppose you know already who to contact there.

VESPA AIR COMPRESSOR 1/4 HP
P 4,800

VESPA AIR COMPRESSOR 1/2 HP
P 8,300

VESPA AIR COMPRESSOR 1 HP
P 11,200

VESPA AIR COMPRESSOR 2 HP
P 14,000

VESPA AIR COMPRESSOR 3 HP (Single Phase)
P 37,500

Re: Spray Painting Talk

diko pa kaya yung mga 2hp air compressors. btw, magpapraktis pa lang ako sa spray painting. just doing some research before buying some equipemtn. matagal na ngang natengga yang pagbili ko ng air compressor e.

actually may tank ako sa bahay. about 100 liters siguro guesstimate ko. nakamount na sya sa isang chassis with 14 inch wheels ata iyon at may towing hook. as per my father, it was used before as a fire extinguisher. kelangan na lang siguro air compressor and electric motor. pero at the moment baka yung lower sized air compressor siguro.

tska wala ako info on the air delivery ng different air compressors available sa market.

The simple answer is "no"... a 2hp vespa compressor will give around 8.8 scfm. Since pinoys are know to be maparaan, even a 1/4"hp compressor can be used (this is often the case sa mga auto painting sa tabi tabi). But it will not perform as needed. It will have the tendency to sputter and give you more work getting a proper finish. If the item to be sprayed is critical, then even more that it should NOT be used.
Get a lower cfm spray gun or get the corresponding compressor to fit each other.

Re: Spray Painting Talk

salamat sir timber.

maybe i'll settle down with the lower cfm guns. or higher if given more than enough na budget.

Pinag-iisipan ko po itong combination na 'to.

Compressor: Vespa 2HP 115 Psi, 88 Liters 10 cfm
Spray Gun: 1.4mm, 1.8mm, Air Consumption: 9.8 CFM/277LPM

Nagpaplanong i DIY pinturahan yung oto ko. Okay lang kung by section ang pag pintura. Kaya kaya to?
