this error showed up several times when I was randomly going trough threads:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/handy/public_html/includes/database.php on line 289

seems to be some problems bridging the forums to the portal script...
anyway, will check server settings later when i get home...
