Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

It really seems like the one you have sir amboy, powercraft S998F. What adjustment should I make, the viewer falls too low over my face, I'll get a stiffed neck soon, and its a kind of suffocating with it on my head.

How will I adjust the horizontal headband, the knob just don't budge when I try to rotate it. This is becoming a comedy at the moment.

mahirap kapag online transaction (except yung tiga PHM syempre hehe)....

either ipull or push mo lang siguro yung knob para maunlock bago mo mapihit. wala bang kasamang operation manual yang helmet mo sir yid?

Natawa naman ako dun sa "PowerCrap"....hihihi

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

kumusta po ang PowerCraft autodark weld helmet, ok din ba to, I bought one, either by error or by fraud. Actually, galing sa Aussie enterprise ng sulit .com, may post sillang Clearweld USA autodark helmet for P3800 . When I contacted them, sabi ubos na raw but they have this WeldKraft USA for P4800 so I paid for one via LBC.

Hey bro yid,

That Aussie Enterprise in sulit is I think headed by one PHM member too by the name of JanMike Caurel, seller of various DIY power tools from Australia or China etc. it seems there was some sort of deception or negative approach in the way you purchased your ADH. Considering you paid Php 4,800.00 for a Weldcraft USA and yet they sent you Powercraft that is only priced at Php 3,800.00, I honestly think you should inform them of this kind of transaction, now I suppose they owe you now P1,000.00 pesos and should demand for the return of the excess payment. That is your right bro. Another way is for you to post a negative reaction in their sulit account so others may be informed.

With regards to your DC welder machine, congrats for getting it from Industrialsupply143, you are assured there of good after sales service which most of us here have enjoyed this past years. Hope you got the PHM discounted price.

WELCOME to the community but can you please introduce yourself here sa forum, we have a MEMBER INTRODUCTIONS, its just below the GAZEBO Forum if you will scroll down the PHM index page. Perhaps you can tell us about your hobbies or interest, location or line of work, though nothing that is too personal for you. We'd just want to know you better as a new member of PHM community !

THANKS ! 😉

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

I am sorry that he is also a member of this forum. I've already called his attention on this matter. He said that:

- Weldkraft USA is the same as Powercraft (PROC), that the prices has been updated already this year (from 3k as bought by sir amboy to 4.8k now). What I know now is PowerCraft is one and the same with OPTECH and there is no WeldKraft USA ADH brand.

- that those being sold around the Central Market or those with lower price are likely fake.

- He also emphasized that the authentic units are dark and glossy, but what he sent me is cheap flat black with bubbling crappy shade and sensitivity stickers. I texted him about this, and just replied that what i got is the cheapest for powercraft brand.

Well, I'm wondering just how much is the fair price for this ADH, or if someone will even buy this for 4K.

I think I was really short change. If he will refund me, nasa kanya na yan, I won't make myself mad for 1k, pero kung mabigyan ko man sya ng negative comment eh di nya ako masisisi.

Anyway, I tested this ADH by exposing it under intense sunlight, no darkening noted even with max shade and intensity settings. Brought it to the welding shop and have someone light a welding rod and all were amazed, first time lang daw sila nakakita ng ganito. So this weekend will be the start of my beading workshop as illustrated in another thread, ipon muna ako ng scrap metal.

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

Sorry to hear that bro. Imho though the seller should have still gotten your approval (or at the very least informed you) first before sending a different brand (even if its the same specs). Its basic courtesy and good bussiness etiquette. Anyways... just move on... learn your lesson... at least now you know who NOT to buy from... and i guess... same goes for those reading this thread...

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

Meron na akong genuine leather welding gloves, yung medyo mahaba. Wala pa akong long sleeves na cotton shirt, safety shoes, at marking soap. I already have few scraps, a small bench vice, small truck rims, C- clamps, measuring
tape.

What do you suggest for cutting metals, medyo draggy ata etong hacksaw, is it ok to use jigsaw even for cutting steel pipes, how about circular saw, overkill na ba?

@ sir miked, palagay ko orig na orig naman yung ADH natin for powercraft/optech PROC, ok naman when I tested mine sa shop. So with regards to its autodark filter unit, it is presumably one of the china generics, but I have none yet to complain about.

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

Bro at the very least get an angle grinder for cutting metal. If budget permits however go get a chop saw... best for cutting metal.... oh... and dont worry too much about how your adh looks like... most of the guys here in PMH has the same kind and look of adh. Whats more important is its function so you can start learning laying down proper weld beads 🙂

+1 on the angle grinder. One of the most versatile tool a metalworker can have. It is a necessity for this type of work.

chopsaw malaking ginhawa sa pagpuputol. may mga mura naman gaya ng skil. ika nga ng kasama natin dito "it gets the job done"

Re: Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

Hi yid and guys,

May I just remind that this thread is about Auto Darkening Welding Helmets. Your suggestions for additional PPEs or some more basic tools for a welding noob are great but I think they are already out of topic. No offense on you guys but may we simply suggest that bro yid start a new thread regarding some additional basic tools needed for a newbie like him, to be able to start welding or metalworking.

I do think its more appropriate that way, don't you think so too guys ?

Thanks and cheers to all "bakal boys" !! :bravo:;)
