Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

Glad you asked. I need to update my opinion on these gloves.

First, I use medium. I think I have larger than average hands but you'll have to measure yourself. I found a website somewhere that tells you how to measure your hands to determine glove size. You may need to search for it.

I use the Framers' Gloves infrequently. It seemed like a good idea at the start. But, since I seldom do screwdriving, it's a pain having to switchgloves midwork . I try to bundle all "fingerwork" together to make optimal use of the gloves.

On the regular gloves, they don't become loose over time. The problem is that they're made of fabric in most parts. After handling a lot of large rough-cut wood, they're torn. I got these last year:

Mechanix Wear CG40-75-009 CG Heavy Duty Glove, Black, Medium

They're nearly indestructible. Been using them mostly since.

@balarila
...judging from the first photos you posted, we may have the same size - medium. i tried the sizing in their site, but still not sure. so i just made the plunge and ordered a medium size, hope i made the right gamble. found an ebay seller that ships it for free here for $19, ordered a pair of m-pact fingerless glove yesterday.

...if it fits, i'll try the other models.:)

Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

...those tillman gloves sure looks tough and durable indeed. they dont have fingerless though on their products. actually i saw the mechanix from your first post, and balarila's post as well. just need it for light to medium duty where most cheap gloves fail.

Let's see some of these stuff. Includes boots, cover alls, aprons, gloves and what not ..... If you want we can include mask, respirators , protective glasses etc ... too.

Here are a few of mine.

Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

I remember those Mechanix and Craftsman gloves. Usually I buy full finger gloves and when these get torn in the edges I cut the fingers. I find the thumb portion to go out first.

I also found that Mechanix gloves fitting is a tad above the others I tried.

Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

I think you did well ... Mechanix gloves are great gloves. Won't take hard beatings but for the purpose these are intended then I think very few other brand of gloves can match or give a much better fit.

Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

my old earmuff is now doomed to the garbage..now very dirty, peeling plastic, crumbling foam liner and perhaps full of molds..yuck! (truth to the matter is, i forgot it to return inside the shop and left it outside since the beginning of the rainy season)..its the same earmuff i bought years back in our favorite store..i believe i got it for just 50p...cheap but served its purpose well...

got this 3M Peltor instead...this is not the industrial type earmuff btw...the cheapest among the earmuff lines of Peltor i guess.

and this one soon to replace my dirty gloves.

btw..i intend to use these gloves for driving as i have a condition known as hyperhidrosis...just simply having a sweaty hands..:D

Are you sure? Give it a try first. I have relatively large hands but use Medium Mechanix gloves all the time. They start out tight but, after some time, snug and good.

That may be something I've looking for! Where'd you get them from?

I have perfect farsighted vision but require 200grade reading glasses. So I'm looking for bifocal safety glasses that is 200 on lower half and normal on the upper half. Today, I usemy reading glass and put OTG safety glasses on top of it. Becomes a bother after some time.
