Peltor H10A Optime 105 Over-the-Head Earmuff

Big improvement over the 50 pesos earmuff I was previously using. The cheaper one is ok for power tools. However hammering metals is another story thus my decision to step up to a Peltor.

Surprised to find out it's Made in USA.

Replied in Where to buy good Palo China? thread.

These work well so I'm not interested in the Peltor anymore. Too much gear to wear already and this design is not a nuisance to me.

^From the Hearing Protection thread, referring to Howard Leight ear plugs. Don't the ear plugs do a good job on banging metal sounds? Looks like the interest in Peltor was regained. My motto is, 'You can't have too many Peltors'.

On the box of an H9A it says: Assembled and packaged in the USA from components of the USA and Sweden.

I thought Peltor had been a part of Aearo Company. Did Aearo sell Peltor to 3M ... or did 3M buy Aearo?

3M must be involved now. The mark on the box I got has a sticker that says 3M/Peltor as well.

Akala ko ako lang nakakarandam niyan. I use to use earplugs but these slip off the ear holes after sometime. Maybe I got the wrong brand?

hindi naman siguro..the built of these in ear foams is basically the same (no sizes to choose from generally)...the problem lies in our own ear design..some have small openings (and they slip) and some have wider ear holes (you can insert them much deeper).

but you know it is much easier to put on these earmuffs especially when your hands are dirty than the in ear foams..so both of these stay in my shop.:flower2:

Hey bro where were you able to purchase that Peltro ear muffs and how much was it. I've been intrigued by this brand a few months back from your discussions on another thread I think with sir ben before. :p

I'm also interested in one just to find out how good it is for ear protection since I do a lot of metal grinding lately and metal pounding too. Currently what I use now are earmuffs that can be purchased at DIY stores, Lotus or KYK brands and they're doing just fine with me but I think an additional real good ear muffs won't hurt or be a sin. :tounge2:

@ Rosy

I purchased it at amazon but it was hand carried by my niece instead of shipped through a forwarder.

Here's the link.

I should have ordered and tried this too but did not see it till now.

Thanks sir JayL for the information and links, I thought Peltro is available locally and can be purchased at maybe Panda, Mayon, Toolec, Toolsfromus, or other special stores somewhere in Binondo.

Anyway I prefer the ear muffs than the ear plugs cause I've been warned by my ear doctor about the hazards also of using ear plugs. Sometimes we get complacent or careless that sometimes our ear plugs becomes dirty due to handling, of course inserting dirty ear plugs can
or might infect the innermost portion of our ears and of course that is not pleasant, we might end up having those thick yellowish fluids coming out of our ears, ( so sorry for this description). 😮 🙁

Anybody knows a store or shop locally that I can purchase this Peltro ear muffs ?. Any information will be very much appreciated., THANKS again. :thanks:

Re: Workshop Safety Work Wears

Peltor is available locally. Check the previously mentioned Hearing Protection thread, starting from post #4 up to about #22. Some prices also mentioned there.

It does look like 3M bought Aearo of which Peltor had been a 'part' ... in 2008, for 1.2 billion dollars.
