Re: a few welding works

i cut a piece of flat bar to cover the large gap..

[IMG][/IMG]

after welding and grinding..

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

much harder to remove and re install the hood than re welding the hinges..

Re: a few welding works

bro crazyboi_6,

i used 3/32 nihonweld 6013 rod..DCEN.Set my yamato inverter to 100 amps..
medyo over amps to kasi manipis lang yung pipe..but if you have good control
in arc ganyan ang result..one bead at a time lang ang pag apply ng weld..
parang isinasawsaw mo lang yung rod sa toe ng previous bead mo..

pag 80 amps lang kasi nakabukol yung weld beads..see pics below i started it with
80 amps then i adjust to 100 amps..see the difference as i run the weld through my
workpiece..

Re: a few welding works

storage room steel door

walang hamba..kaya square tube na lang din ang ginamit ko para maikabit lang ang pinto..

[IMG][/IMG]

what i do is attached the square tube in concrete using expansion bolt..

[IMG][/IMG]

old school barrel bolt lock..lack of aesthetic look but way more sturdier than one sold in hardware stores..

[IMG][/IMG]

i don't know what is the reason why the owner want to place his vise in this position:confused:
di ko makita yung logic..

Re: a few welding works

Re: a few welding works

Hey bro crazyboi_6,

I don't think its got nothing to do with the welding electrodes you are using, its just a matter of knowing how to use it with proper or right ampere setting and the thickness of the metal you are applying your welds. It also takes a lot of wrist and arm control in handling the rod holder and the long welding rod.

I am using different welding electrodes available here in my area, Wipweld, Wipcord, Nihonweld, and Bestweld, from 3/32" or 1/8" rods and had no problem applying beads or welds on metals.

When striking an arc, you should learn how to maintain the arc length (distance of the tip of the rod to the surface of the metal, about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch) be able to deposit a successful weld bead.
Do pre heat the tip of your rod if you are having difficulties in making an arc, how ? drag your welding rod on the metal surface, let it produce some sparks to make the rod tip glowing red, then start to deposit a decent weld bead on the metal surface for a few seconds then let go. 🙂 :p

Don't be discourage, you just need tons of patience and lots of practice. This way you learn from your mistakes. A tip here bro, kung nahihirapan ka kontrolin yung mahabang welding rod, cut it in half so you can control and handle the electrode holder easily. 😉

sir, baka mapasok pa rin yan kahit nakakandado dahil nasa labas yung hinge. pwedeng luwagan from the outside.
