Re: Arcweld 200i-S and upcoming projects

Hi there bro Benny,

That's a very nice looking arc welder from Lincoln Electric, am sure you will enjoy using it on future metal projects. I'm kinda confused here a bit, is it gonna be for personal use or for your work related applications? I never thought you'd be interested in welding/metalworking since its not included in your list of interest.

Well anyways, to answer and give some pointers on what you need before you start learning the skills.

Buying some PPEs : What ever brand of ADH is up to you, additional clear glasses for your eye protection, leather gloves, long sleeves shirt or a welding jacket, denim or leather apron, denim pants and steel toe boots. Oh don't forget also an ear muffs or ear plug, you will use these too when grinding or cutting metals.

For creating your welding table : Height of the table from floor to the table top, depends on where will you be comfortable most, it can be 28", 30", 32" or more. Point is where you will do less back bending during welding or metal fabs. The 1/2" thick table top will just be perfect for the project, with regards to size/table top dimension, again is variable, depends on your initial needs like some wants it square, eg. 36" X 36" , 40" X 40" or 48" X 48" others prefer it rectangular shaped, eg. 24" X 30", 24" X 36", 30" X 36" or 36" X 40" or 48". Using caster wheels with locks is very much considered for easy movement since when it is not in use, you can just set it aside in one corner or a wall.

CHEERS and Good Luck with your new toy !!:thumbup::rofl:

Re: Arcweld 200i-S and upcoming projects

Good morning PHM

Went home for a week in GenSan, saw this machine in one of the finest hardware there.
Wanted to buy last unit but alas....it was already sold...to a company which had two units
already, maganda ang feedback for this IGBT welding machine.

@Teardroprock, magkano ang bili mo? and where? If in Manila, saan?

My welding table, almost similar to Sir Bugel, 30" x 40", with 6" steel caster, height 32".
however I use 3/4" plate (really heavy), 5" ang overhang ng table (tama ba ang term?)
para walang harang pag clamps.

Re: Arcweld 200i-S and upcoming projects

thank you very much sa mga replies 🙂

@sir Bugel - i'm backreading some of your projects, at tuwang-tuwa ako sa mga DIY mo, lalo na yung table mo. gusto ko nga rin yung square tubing design ng table mo dati. mukhang madaling mag clamp ng mga bagay-bagay. thank you sa dimensions ng table. tanong ko sa nag purchase kung magkano. order lang ako ng order eh, hahaha.

@sir Rosy - thank you for remembering 🙂 actually, i'm a beginner at SMAW and OXY/ACE brazing. had a brief introduction with the craft in TESDA. so yes, it's gonna be used for work actually.

thanks for the list of other PPEs. I'll be shopping for them today, if we can get some petty cash hehe.

thanks for the welding table dimensions too. i like your size suggestions and i think i'll be doing a rectangular table, just like sir Bugel's 🙂

for the table and tool box. i'll be using a cabinet maker software (CABINETVISION). gusto kasi nila ng may sketch/plan bago ma approve ang mga request for materials. i'll keep you guys posted sa design. big thanks sa mga tips sirs

Hey bro teardroprock,

Hope you can make a review of your new welder while you're using it at work or at home so we may learn its capabilities with different electrodes used. 😎

Salamat !! :thanks:

Re: Arcweld 200i-S and upcoming projects

Good morning PHM

i've tested the arcweld with 30 plus chairs (frame repair, etc) using 6013 3/32 electrode. setting was around 40-50 amps.

oops painted na hehehe.

easy to use. no overheating issues 🙂

more pics later

Hey bro,

It seems your machine have done lots of repairs already, that's great and good job !! :2thumbsup: But can we see more of your weld applications and perhaps a sort of review of the welder in action ??

Thanks

Just an update to this thread, it seems that there are two models of Arcweld 200.. 1st one is the 200i-S, that is stick weld only and the other is 200i-ST which has TIG option. I would imagine that this would probably be lift-start tig and I don't think they would include your TIG torch and regulator for the 200i-ST. I was originally saving up for this one but I just recently ended up buying an ESAB Buddy 200 that's also arc and tig. Goldapextools.com currently has them on stock, according to their website.
