curious question: transformer for welding

gd day, newbe palang po me sa welding hobby, balak ko kc bibili ng portable welding machine 200A either ac or dc, tanong kulang po.
-kailangan ko pa ba mag pakabit ng transformer galing sa electric coop? kc sabi ng mga kaibigan ko na magagalit daw mga kapitbahay ko pag mag we weld na walang transformer.

Bro romelabrador,

To answer your question, nope you will not need a transformer if you plan to buy a portable welder
whether its an AC or a DC set up. If you will get an AC welder, its power supply will have to come
direct from a junction box, meaning you will have to tap it direct from the fuse box of 60 amperes.

May I suggest you settle for a DC weld machine, the brand is your choice, its easy to use and can
be powered direct from any ordinary household outlet plus mas matipid sa electric consumption.
