Is it your latest purchase or yung mga nauna. Is it with you or your brother inlaws' unit. Yes Ding is right, check date of purchase and warranty if its still covered.

Its the first one.

Anyway, both are already more than 6 months since purchase. And both are in my brother-in-law's metal shop. Well, the broken one is with me now.

I'll bring the unit to Kapilingan St. this weekend. Maybe they can repair it. If not I'll try to do it ossie's way. 🙂

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

HEHEHEHE, baka hindi tinantanan ng brother-in-law or his welders sa shop. Siguro tuloy tuloy ang pag gamit, hindi pinapahinga.

Anyway the second unit yata baka under warranty pa, diba August mo yun binili ?? Can't remember the exact date you purchased it and when we tested it sa shop ni bro Willy Fernando.

Well kung paso na warranty, dalin mo yung dalawa kay na Mimi so that the technicians there can work on them.
Remember, new locations na sila sa may Araneta Ave.

Beware on flying splinters while grinding as well as yung mga splatters na pumuputok when it hits the ground.

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

Add on observartions lang pala. Not related to DC welder faults.

Arc Blow happens near a magnet.
This usually happens using a DC welder near the corners (like angle bars) as per internet sources.

Makikita nyo ito while using this DC 200a welder. Lalo na pag nag weld near a corner with magnetic corner holders ( meron ako dito 2x Tekton). What I usually do is weld on the opposite corners away from this magnet to prevent or minimize arc blows...

my 0.02 inputs...

Good observation there Ariel and thanks for sharing this info, this will be a very useful tip for other metal boys using welding magnets.

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

Here is another video to watch, its another Arc Welding Lessons worth watching, I have seen this video several times and woul watch it again and again, sort of brain washing myself with the information being given. 😎

I would like to share this to our members once more specially the newbies in stick welding, kinda long arc lessons again, about 46.40 minutes but what the heck, what is important is we assimilate the info he is delivering/giving us ! 😉

SO again enjoy watching this video.

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

T-JOINT or 1F POSITION EXERCISES :

Well after watching several videos that I have posted links here for the past weeks, I decided to do some more exercise on another type of application. Since I've gotten used to doing the flat position, well not necessarily the IG position, I guess its time for the 1F/2F position or the T-JOINT.

Bought some irregular cut flat bars from the nearby junk shop, about 15 feet total, then measured and cut to several pieces to be used for this exercise/practice. The whole process took me two days, one day for the preparation of the flat bars, cutting and sanding off rusted areas, then tacking each joints, and then the actual weld applications with different types of welding electrodes, taking pics of the whole process and recording the mistakes done during applications. I really wanted to do this exercise coz in the past tries, I have been having some difficulties doing fillet welds.

The flat bar is almost 2" in width.

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

And 3/16" of an inch thick, so I guess there will be no problem in terms of burn thru or warping caused by different techniques in weld applications.

Set up the flat bars for tacking.

And the tack welded the flat bars to form a T-JOINT.
