Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

It seems most who purchased their Yamato portable weld machines would play with it only when their is a metal project in mind, sigh, 🙁

hehehe.. most likely. if only junk shops are abundant and nearby. there's none on our vicinity. that's why my first practice with my new dc yamato welder was just a spare 4" 1"x1" angle bar. not much room to practice.lolz!

Well I suppose you have to find more scrap metals to practice your weld applications and familiarize yourself with the Yamato DC Inverter. hehehe

Good luck again bro NTD !!!

re:6011, common buyers ng mga hardware stores dito sa amin ay mga tiga-TESDA daw.

re: sa Yamato DC welding machine ko, i don't know if it's me or the unit pero mas "good looking" yung weld application ko on 6013 & 6011 with the current set at about 10-20 amps higher than what is stated sa welding book ko tsaka sa miller quick guide on smaw. i think nasa calibration ng unit ko ang problema. i'm practicing weld application sa 1.5 mm 2x2 angle bars from time to time habang may mga projects on the side (sayang din yung rod, hehe) pero so far so good naman yung unit. sana tumagal din kahit papano.

Re: Let's practice STICK WELDING, and proper weld bead applications.

@ miked,

Likewise here in our area bro, 6011 and 7018 rods are very popular among Tesda welder graduates. There is a welding school run by the local government near our town authorized by TESDA, and the local government provides everything needed during the welding sessions except the metals which the participants buy them from junk shops.

Now with regards to the outcome of your welds, then that is great ! I myself don't follow exactly those ampere settings provided by some welding books or manuals. Those are just guide on how one can have possible decent welds, it still depends on how you want your welds to come out, I myself do increase or decrease my ampere settings depending on the thickness of the metal being welded. Bro, sariling diskarte lang yan, their settings may not work for you so you try to adjust into something that will work for you and that you are at ease with.

Miked, huwag kang manghinayang sa welding rods kasi ang kapalit nyan ay kaalaman at kagalingan sa pag deposit ng weld beads, you don't practice, you don't learn, tipirin mo gamit mo, tipid at konti lang alam mo !!! Its as simple as that, hehehe 😀

JC Kawasaki brand TIG/Stick DC inverter 200 amps, murang welding machine lang, pero ok naman it gets the job done hehe. yung TIG function di ko pa nasubukan ipon pa para sa argon

Gusto ko talaga MIG kaya lang sobrang out of reach na sa budget. Miller or Lincoln brand. Nasubukan ko na kasi both machines sa dati ko work.

ganito yung Miller na gamit namin dati http://www.swiftcoindustrialsupply.com/html/miller_mig_welders_10.html

eto naman yung Lincoln http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/Equipment/Pages/product.aspx?product=K3069-1(LincolnElectric )

Two months pa lang. Stable naman arc pero parang di accurate yung amperage control nya pero not a big issue naman yun madali naman adjust and amps hehe
