Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

And the welded top side ready for grinding !!

Will just have to use these two to grind the welds and achieve a flat surface. BUT......................

But I guess I'll be needing a stronger and larger 5" incher grinder to make it faster. :attack:

And for the 1/8" plate to be welded underneath the T-Bars, here 's how it went !! :attack:

Well each plate were clamped to the metal to be welded, and will be doing Fillet welds, flat position.

And the welded plates.

ANOTHER FILLET WELDS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLATE !!

Have I applied some decent fillet weld and have passed the eyes of the critiques ? LOL 😀

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

Yes bro bugel, its more of a small circular motion but if you will see the other weld beads closely, I have employed several techniques like a simple side to side motion only or a push and pull motion.

During welds like this on thicker metals, I'd like playing with different weld techniques and would enjoy it and learn from it as well. 😉 😎

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

I guess bro there is a truth to this, most often if one welds with a relaxed arm, wrist and elbow, you get a very consistent nice looking weld beads but if you have just finished grinding some metals or weld puddle applications for quite sometime and then try applying some decent weld beads, you will notice that your hand/arm would become shaky and stiff and un flexible. 😮 Doing this project was sabay sabay, grinding, welding, then grinding and then applying welds again, so I would somehow feel some shaking in my inner flesh and the wrist would also seems nangangalay.

I suppose one have to rest his arms after a hectic grinding of metals and applying welds should be done the next day. What do you think bro bugel ??

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

Yes av973, it would really be a great help for anybody to learn this program, it is very useful indeed but will take lots of patience again for practice plus the images that will have to be projected still need to be done first on paper so one will have an easy visualization of the projects together with all the necessary dimensions/measurements there in.

Well its a sort of time consuming program and have to learn most of the tools and commands you want done. I would sometimes or from time to time ask my son for some assistance on what tool to use. :p 😉 :lalala:

Brader Rosy. Ganoon lang talaga. When I started it 2 qtrs ago, matagal. Pero along the way, you can gain more and more. You can learn to simplify as well.

IMO, it may be good to start on an isometric projection or oblique on paper. Along the way, you can go straight to sketchup. For projects with sheet materials, you can as well print your BOM and cutlist.

IMO, mas shorter ang learning curve compared sa ACAD given the functionality I need.

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

Well I started measuring some 1 1/2" GI pipes to my specified size and started cutting them with my DeWALT abrasive chop saw.

Sparks and more sparks everywhere, lol, 😀 having some sort of fireworks on the welding table.

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

The results of the cut by an abrasive chop saw.

Burrs, burrs and more sharp burrs !!! 😮 Just have to do some grinding on the edges to achieve a smoother edges. Think I'll be adding to my wish list a new chop saw with a carbide tip blade. :superman:

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

I really hate welding galvanized tube..
Why? I find it hard to weld and the fumes generated when welding process start..
I do not have respirator that is why i'm experiencing drowning effect everytime
The smoke trapped in my mask..

Ansakit sa baga.. ubo! Ubo! Hiiinghh...

Re: Multi-Purpose Steel Saw Horse

Well bro I respect your opinion, plus other people say they also dislike welding galvanized pipes because of the fumes of the galvanize are health hazards. But for me its just ok, I just put on my respirator mask and do my thing and start welding. Aside from this, I like welding on pipes coz they are much thicker than the square tubings sold in hardware stores which is only 1.5 mm max thickness.

With pipes the ordinary gauge 26 would be 1/8" or one can yet choose a thicker one of gauge 40 which is 3/16" or almost 1/4" thickness, that's about 4 mm to 5 mm thick. Another thing with GI pipes, they don't rust easily like the square tubings, mapatakan lang ng tubig, nagnagnalawang na ! 😮 :p

Well, only my personal opinion.
