Re: steel window

@bugel, ikaw na rin ba ang nag cut ng glass and fit on the window?, I wanted to replace an existing jalousie with this type of window.

Yeah i know, its a simple division..pero pag natapat sa alanganing sukat or numbers
Hehe..patay nako dun..wala namang point system sa metro.lol

[IMG][/IMG]

Kaya minsan dalawang metro pa gamit ko..pag alanganin ang sukat sa inches sa standard size ko kukuhanin ang measurement pag di pa rin natapat sa centimeter naman..hope you guys understand what im trying to explain..kahit ako naguguluhan sa paliwanag ko..lol.

Turuan nio nga ako ng mas magandang paraan..

[IMG][/IMG]

Buti natapat sa madaling i divide..hehehe..

[IMG][/IMG]

Resized na yung pics..malaki pa rin..

Re: steel window

Day 2..almost done..

[IMG][/IMG]

Day 3..window naman..slow progress due to some other commitments..

[IMG][/IMG]

Day 4...buo na..painting session naman..i hope tommorow maganda ang panahon..

[IMG][/IMG]

A simple tip to the newbies coming from a newbie..hehe..
Filling the gap..i used welding rod as a filler rod..sometimes you cannot prevent the chop saw blade deflect..the result is uneven cut of the metal stock especially sa z-bar.

I reduced the diameter size of welding rod( para pumasok sa gap) using my bench grinder..

Re: steel window

Then insert the filler rod in the gap and apply tack weld..

[IMG][/IMG]

Tack weld again at end of the joint..kusa ng mapuputol ang filler rod.

[IMG][/IMG]

Pwede ng i full weld using "dip and lift technique" pag maninipis ang bakal ganyan lang ang ginagawa ko..di naman pwedeng continuos weld for sure mabubutas ang metal piece.

[IMG][/IMG]

Some bead shot using that technique..

Re: steel window

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

100 amps..sounds too high for a thin material..but its a matter of how you apply the beads..just dip your rod in the metal as soon the arc start quickly lift the stinger or else your metal piece will melt that may result to burn through hole..then dip again at the toe of your previous bead repeat the steps..the result is this

Re: steel window

If you want your tack weld be flat and clean..try adjusting your welder in a higher settings..

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

A couple of bead shot..

Re: steel window

And another..this time high window naman..

[IMG][/IMG]

24"x50" lang ang size kaya madaling natapos..

[IMG][/IMG]

Usually takal takal lang ako bumili ng primer..malaki matitipid kung per gallon or liter na..

[IMG][/IMG]

Isinabay ko na rin ang dp cabinet ko..i apply three coats of polyuretane top coat floor varnish..
