Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Very sturdy now bro not to mention secured. Looks like those culprits will take the whole night to cut those round bars if they only have a hack saw. I'd be surprised if they still try that.

Well for now lets see if the metal grill will be enough to secure that concrete louvers and discourage some illegal attempts to get entry in the pump house. Anyway I have also installed a spot light directed to the main metal entrance grill. 🙂

An improvised Digging Tool Bar ( Bareta ) :

Here is a quickie metal project I did last Jan 1st, new years day, yes I was doing some welding that first day of 2013. Anyway it was a fast one, less than a day with the use of the YAMATO DC welder.

Got a piece of 1/4" thick metal plate about 4.5" X 7.5" , an old GI pipe as its handle, sliced one end to fit the metal plate. After cleaning and sharpening the edge of the ms plate I proceeded to weld the pieces together using two types of welding electrodes, E6013 and E7024.

This is the first side.

And the result after welding then spray painting the head metal plate :

And this is the other end of the Digging tool bar. This bit, I chanced upon a junk shop nearby, thought I can use this for something. I inserted it inside the 1" GI pipe then welded it after which I grinder the welds to produce a smooth finish.

Feb 02 pa ang dating ng ADH ko.

Did you source it locally or abroad? How much does it cost?

Had arc eyes for a few days after a small DIY repair. Thinking of ADH as better eye protection.

Thanks! Any idea how effective those sold in this store?

Or in on-line classified ads such as sulit?

This one is being sold for Php2.5K. Quite tempting though with 2 sensors only.

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

@ fourtheboys96,

Bro let me chime in on your concern.

If you are gonna use it occasionally, then I guess it is just fine plus its the combo solar powered with battery assist, at least if the battery gets spent, it will still work because of the solar power. With the specks you mentioned I don't see a grind mode adjustment but if you can live with it then its ok, just lift up the hood to do your grinding. :p

Usually these ADH sold here locally are imports from China or Taiwan, I'm not saying they are all bad but before buying one, try to inspect every unit you get to try, check and compare specifications, any additional features and designs will cost you more but it still up to your preference. Just remember this old saying, "You get what you pay for" choose well from reputable stores selling these items, at least maybe you can inform them if anything goes wrong with your ADH, they could service it or replace it.

Good luck on your ADH hunting ! :cheerleader3:

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Washing Machine wheel base repair/wheel casters replacement :

Well to continue with the said project inspite of slow progress this past weeks, here I manage to finish it early this month and its just now that I will be able to post the WIPs due to being busy and with some technical problems with the computer( CPU )

I applied liberally some Stripsoll paint stripper on the angle iron bracket, it was easier to remove paint compared to sanding or wire brushing. After applying the Stripsoll, wait for several minutes and start scraping those paints.

Just be very careful not to get your skin, fingers or fore arms not in contact with this chemical solution, you will experience some burning sensation on the skin and if it does get in contact with the skin, better wash it immediately with soap and water.

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

After removing/stripping all the paint and letting it dry for a while, I flap sanded every piece to remove some paint residues and expose the bare metal completely.

Then applied some rust converter. I used to use Turco but now switched to this new chemical rust converter and stain remover, Turbo rust remover by Cord, since it works faster :cool01: , compared to the other brand that you have to dry it overnight after application.

@bro rosy,

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

After the Turbo has dried, wipe it with a damp rag then applied several coats of primer gray metal epoxy.

NOW READY FOR SPOT WELDING !

Wheel casters now are ready to be welded on the triangular base that will receive the washing machine bottom.
I will just be using the 3/32" rods so not to have some burn throughs on the thin triangular plates and the plate of the wheel casters and probably at a lower ampere setting of 75 amps.
