Mga sir, binaligtad ko wiring ng DC welder. Mas gusto ko kasi yung stick sa positive end, tapos low setting sa amperage.

Bro Ronald, tell your mrs, you need this welder very badly so you can start doing projects for her and the house, so you won't be hiring a welder anymore outside of the subdivision. That you'd like to do repairs specially if it concerns metals like gates, window grills or maybe a puppy/dog house, kitchen cart perhaps or some garden furniture for her as well and so many more.

Bro, pros of the YAMATO portable weld machine, its very light and can be carried anywhere in the house, it can be plugged in any ordinary household outlet, can do the usual welding projects in mind, has a soft starting when making an arc, less spatters, less noise and less electric consumption. Its a good entry level for beginners and the price is very affordable for a DC welder, 1/3 or 1/2 the price vis a vis other DC welder in the market now. Seller provides good after sales service( proven several times na ) and discounts for PHM members. 😉

The cons bro, due to its size and lightness, it can easily be stolen, hehehe :D, you cannot use it for cutting metals, precisely for welding only, I personally find the ground and lead cables to be short for my use and the electrode holder is kinda crappy 😮 so might as well replace it so it can grip tight the welding rods properly.

sir rosy, safe to plug in any ordinary outlet? I've checked my circuit braker mga usual amp per socket is 30a. ok lang po pag ganun? takot ko lang kasi baka may masira sa lines or appliances namin 🙂

wire gage ng yamato dc is 2.0mm iirc. nakatatak yun sa plug..but i'm using a 1.6 mm (gage 14) circuit which was used previously on a water pump. circuit breaker nya is 30 amp. so far hindi nagtitrip.

ngapala, nung una nung wala pa syang dedicated feeder line eh ginamit ko sa ordinary outlet with a 10 amp extension wire (gage 18 iirc). ayun sunog yung extension. akala ko nadale na yung unit ko.

to be on the safest side, bigyan mo na lang sya ng dedicated line matching to the gage no. of the welder. with a dedicated circuit breaker of course.

saka mo na lang gamitin sa common receptacle if the need arises.

Yes Ronald, inverter welders now are made to be plugged in ordinary household outlets and that makes it really very convenient compared to the transformer types or the bulky ones that they still have to be connected or tapped direct to the main circuit breaker of safety switch box. The Yamato DC Inverter weld machine require an outlet socket of 10 or 15 amps capacity, like what you said, you have 30 amps circuit breaker per socket, so that if enough to power the Yamato.

Hey bro miked, diba usually wire gauge natin sa mga outlets ng bahay ay gauge #12 and for our lighting fixtures ay gauge #14, so since these are the standard gauges, May I suggest you stick with the gauge #12 stranded wires for your extensions at huwag kang maging kompante sa gauge#14. Using the gauge #18 is too small/thin for a welder, :nono: they are only good for home appliances and some lighting fixtures.

Its better to be safe than be sorry, lalo na kung koryente pinag uusapan natin. :electricf:

yes, me too guns for safety...eventually papalitan ko rin yung dedicated feeder ko to gage 10 or 12 na stranded na. say 1-2 weeks time. weekends na lang ako makakapagweld for now. for the meantime ko lang ginagamit yung 1.6 mm diameter na feeder ng electric water pump dati. tska dahil yung mga outlet kasi sa loob ng bahay ay maluluwag na due to "ant invasion". plus the reason kung bakit ginagamit ko yung 1.6 mm na feeder ng water pump is mag-isa lang sya sa circuit breaker at outside the house yung mga connection pero may plastic enclosure naman yung breaker. if ever masunog (wag naman sana) or magtrip, sya lang ang madadale. papalitan ko na rin naman na yung poste ng breaker.

regarding sa gage 18 extension na ginamit ko eh one time lang yun at for a quick emergency weld sa lobas ng bahay na

i'll be installing also another 70 or 90 A breaker and gage 6 stranded sa bahay namin sa ilocos para sa AC welder and mini-shop use.

but one thing na nababasa ko sa likod ng dc welder, may nakalagay 30++ amperes. i suspect eto yung current draw nya at 100% duty rating.

di na acceptable as standard minimum wire ang 14 AWG sa electrical layout ...

BTT: mga masters, how much na ngayon ang price ng DC200 (pa PM nalang kung di pwede sa forum)? Im planning to buy na this weekend, convince na ako since wala pa ako nabalitaan bad feedback hehehe... Likewise, san ba ang landmark/place ng LYS? TIA

Update: Got my yamato unit yesterday... will start to practice this weekend..
