Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

grinding...

some of the lessons...
don't get carried away by welding too much...hirap din pala mag-grind to remove the excess.
hinay-hinay lang sa paglagay ng welds...
lots and lots of practice pa !!!

then brushed on the rust converter ( turco ) ...

later,it will be sanded to expose metal then , i'll coat it with epoxy primer and look for any paint that is available in my stocks .

then proceeded to full weld...

Bro jon, may I suggest that you add another piece of flat bar support under these welded joints just to be sure kasi sa tingin ko baka bumigay pa yan in the long run, sorry bro pero baka kulang pa metal fusion nyan.

Wala namang masama kung patitibayin pa yan, di ba ?? Pwede pa namang galapaan yang underside na yan habang wala pang pinta at karga na mga washing machines. 😉

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

@ Bro Jon ... are your 7024 rods burning well at 110-120A? I mean these do start quickly and the arc stays continuous while welding.

My 7024's use up more current at 130-140A? However these are more than 3 years old now with me. I wonder if that is the reason why I need more amperage.

I presume all our welders give out the same amperage naman at the respective settings.

Looking very good bro .... tapos ang stand. Go go go.:attack::attack:

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Quickie order from SWMBO... She said, this one should be part of my practice.

Part of scrap metals (sq bar 8mm actual) I've bought from Marikina (Al Metal) at 33php per kilo. (not in pix) Also got flat bar 2in by 6ft for bead and joint practice and 1 1/2 3/16 angle bar for TS frame stand project.

Let start here sa quick order ni SWMBO kahapon.

As you can see, I don't have a vise. Kaya clamp muna. Cutting using hacksaw. Est time is about 35 mins.

Cleaned edges and prepare ends using sanding disk. Est time is about 5 mins.

Find old tiles that I can use as platform as well as quick guide. (I think, I need to fab a welding table or equivalent soon... )

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Setup. DCEN e6013 1/8 120 amps.

Tackwelded one side of the first half. Then followed the other half afterwards.

Removed slags.

Then connected horizontal members. Do the rest of the weld. Grind edges. Heto naka tayo na. Est time 45 mins.

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Dahil may small grilling session, kailangan daw eh medyo elevated ang dating ihawan. Here it is. Wala pang paint...

BOM:
8mm sq bar. 1.6 kgs . approx 14ft
6013 - 2 pcs

Lessons learned:
1.0 She said, I need to make a welding platform and floor cover. Kasi, may splatter sa tiles ng garahe. huhuhu. napagalitan ako.
2.0 Mas mahirap mag weld sa confined corners. Maybe because of limited space unlike sa flat.
3.0 Get rid of those used tiles.
4.0 Practice pa ng practice he he he...

Hi bro av973,

Pre, congrats sa project mo, ok ah, ang ganda pa ng pag kaka spot weld mo, very clean, parang pro na ahh, hehehe. Just keep it up and continue practicing, mahahasa karin sa skill nayan.

Ang sarap may weld machine sa bahay ano, kahit anong metal project maisip, magagawa agad.
Yes you are absolutely right, you will need a welding table soon for future projects. GO GO GO bro Ariel

Bro Ariel, enjoy welding and stay safe always. :chopper: :massbounce:

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Here're feeble attempts by my son and me. Heck, my son's even a better welder than I am.

Making a wood rack for my boatbuild and other projects. No need to make it pretty. Just functional.

When in doubt, tambakan ng welding.

We'll get better in time. I hope.

you're right, we'll get better in time...i'm hoping too...

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

2nd pass welds after a bit of grinding on the first pass more often than not result in more good looking welds ( if desired ) specially if there are fit up gaps on the metals.

Wire wheel brushing or slight grinding of the metals ( cleaning ) prior to welding produce better weld beads and easier arc starts as well.

brad jayL,
yesterday i went to quiapo to have my first ever eyeglass..
and this morning have time to set my welder to see and check if i'm right in my amp setting...
and it is now that i realized that the setting of the amperage of our welder are in increments of 20's...

you are right then brad jay, i should say 120-140 settings...signs of time...:glassesf:
however, i still got good rod burnings at 100...
:thanks:

Re: Yamato DC 200A Inveter Welder in Action

Kulamin si Bro Ricky hehhehhehhe Group Kulam mas malakas.

Looks like my 3 years old 7024 rods are still good then Bro Jon. For a while I was worried that these were not up to standard anymore probably because of moisture.

There are lenses that can be fitted to welding helmets .. diopters 1.5,2.0, 2.5 ... etc .. I wanted to try these but always forget to order some. I need to take off my ADH lens to see if these will fit in.
