I'm sick and tired of the dust collector getting in the floor way when moving in the woodshop .... I'm going to mount it on the wall. Seems like a good chance for me to use the Yamato DC welder since this will be done in 1/8" angle and flat bars.

I'm thinking to bend an angle bar into a semi circle ... gatla gatla na lang .... LOL ... baka me mas madalai kayo na way.

the easier way would be not to put an angular bar in front. the 3/4" bottom or even 1/2" plywood bottom would support the weight... minimalist ika nga...

It is easier to cut plywood into an arc .... oo nga naman.

Yeah bro ... it's a bit big but there are advantages. It does not fill up quickly but I also don't have a thicknesser and jointer which I believe produce lots of dust and shavings. This dust collector is so effective that until now I have not found a need to replace it.

It's been a while since I purchased the Yamato welder that I had a chance to use it. So far I'm very happy with the purchase. It's very reasonably priced for a DC welder and it does not fight with me when I weld. It's not as sleek as a Mig welder but it's also miles away from my AC welder in terms of user control.

Building simple wips is easily done like this 1/8" flat and angle bar made dust collector wall mount.

Since it's thin metals I choose the thinnest welding rods available. Nihon Weld 6013s was what I found.

The reason I chose thin rods is because I almost always grind my welds and I don't want thick weld deposits.

Mig gun habit .... I always forget to weave my stick weld a bit. LOL

Bro JayL, ANG BILIS AH !!!!!! Tapos na agad, am glad you are satisfied with the Yamato welder, yes its not as astig as the mig welder but it does the job satisfactorily plus it is very easy to set up and much cheaper in terms of consumables spent. hehehe 🙂 😉

OH, any experience with the tip of the welding rod after each weld application ???

Less Electricty and no Gas cost... LOL

Hmmm I think I encountered the hard re start ups ... but I did not reverse polarity to check again. I was on DCEP all the time.

In fact I have not noticed it till you reminded me here ... I always have a scratch metal because I want the rod to be hot when I touch it to the actual wip ... easy starts.

I forgot to weld the belt brackets to keep the drum from falling .... hehehhehhe .... bukas uli

Garbe sa mura Yamato na ito ... konti na lang ka presyo na yun mga Tweco na rod holder, quick disconnects and ground clamp na nakaka mod sa unit.

Go go go na . 11K na yata nearest price ng competition. Just don't ask me about reliability as yet ... I have not tested. Maybe other members can give a more stronger opinion on this regard. LOL

I cut some metals to make a Mig Gun Holder. I really need to use my Yamato DC welder so I could break it in and make sure all is ok before the warranty expires. I decided to use it here.

The setup ...

The welding rod is too long so I cut it in half using a slicer disc ... for better stinger control

I passed the other half's end to the bench wire wheel to expose metal so I can use it too.

Proceeded to weld my wip

This is where my difficulties started ....

stick welding round stuff is not easy ... I reckon this needs a lot of practice

no problem I grind the welds to make it look decent
