These companies got their franchising contract from countries like Indonesia, Thailand and other Asian countries and made their mark here. There are also opportunities in Pharmaceutical distribution and franchising like Generics and it's contemporaries. Then there's real estate investments. A lot of prime properties listed in foreclosure offers. You just have to have an eye for a good deal. I recently bought a piece of real estate at a good price last December 21, 2012 and it's investment value has increased by 25% from my purchase as of current date. We are currently in negotiation with a company in Bangkok to supply us SPA essentials for local distribution. There are a number of wellness and beauty clinic businesses here that are still looking for good products they could use for their labels. The list goes on but you get the picture. There are a lot of opportunities here that we'd hate to see go to waste or lose to foreign competitors.

prospective entrepreneurs.

Perhaps, typical examples of business ideas with minimal hardware are

1. Ice (Tube) Making
Hardware: Ice maker + impact plastic sealer + foot-pedal or motorized trike (for ice delivery)
Small hardware footprint set-up is possible in residences (imo)….

2. Jack Repair
Hardware: Few wrenches perhaps, bench vise, (does anybody know what you need to repair jacks?????)
Imagine how much you charge for a 50-Tonner Jack?????

3. Brake-shoe repair
Hardware: Bench drill press + portable angle grinder + bench grinder + oven + customized GI-band clamps + turn-buckles + Punch + hammer

4. Automotive Painting
Hardware: Spray Painting Booth + Air Compressor + air filters + spray guns + PAPR

If site is located in sparse neighborhood/ no strict regulations then perhaps spray booth
may not be needed.

5. Metal Cutting Business
Hardware: Rebar cutter, Abrasive Cutoff Saw, Metal Cold Saw, Oxy-Acetylene Torch Cutter …..
….(getting expensive) Metal Bandsaw, Metal Cold Saw, Plasma Cutter, Metal Laser Cutter….etc….

1. Food busines is a good one IMO since food is a necessity for all of us. lalu na if the location is near schools, work, etc. siguro a "catchy" or simply good food plus a good location is the right combination.

2. internet-based business ay isa rin sa mga napapansin kong dumarami. nung kumuha ako ng entrep class last summer eh halos e-business ang usapan.

3. Welding shop that specializes in TIG welding esp. on aluminum parts etc plus bending services....wala kasi ako masyado nakikita na ganyan. halos the conventional arc welding and oxyace.

I think powder coating services would work given the rise in modifications or accessories of motorcycles. It also has other applications like furniture, metal and construction accessories. Start up equipment can be minimal say a powder coating gun, some small color inventory and a household oven. Check the net for some interesting videos on it's set-up, application and sourcing.

I think a good business should start from your passion. Example, if you like to cook then make a restaurant, if you like wood works then go for furniture shop.

A small business to start with less hardware stuffs, one can start with a kiosk selling fruit juices or soft drinks and then with boxes of pizzaz which can be sold by piece or as a whole box. Then another one possible is siopao or siomai, this may be a small business but the return of investments here are so fast specially if you are near schools.
