Just lost our pet Doberman Pinscher this morning due to cancer, we named her KYLA and with a registered name "Carrie of Starlight". She's been with us for eight years and five months.
Trouble started last May when she started developing a small lump on her lower left side, actually on her mammary glands then it started getting bigger so we had to bring her to the vet last July for an operation. We thought everything was OK then but another lump re-appeared after three months so again she went for another operation last October. Then just this December I noticed that she was sort of getting thinner and loosing weight fast so I had her checked by the vet once more and showed him some new lumps starting to develop again, the vet gave her some shots of vitamins to regain and boost her appetite, did worked for a while but as the days would pass she'd be skipping meals or would not finish her four cups of dog pellets. Then her last few days of December, she would have difficulty sitting down or standing up plus now all her extremities have become swollen (manas) and this got me a bit scared for maybe it won't be long now that she'd be gone for good. She was with us Christmas and New Years eve celebration enjoying some lechon manok and some pork liempo as her meals.
Then just this morning, 2nd of January, my son discovered KYLA slumped under the dining table lifeless. This is just a very sad day for the family for we lost a very well loved pet who has given us such joy and happiness all these years she's been with us since 2006.
