What do you use to clean your hands after getting it dirty in grease and oil? These are what i use. Takes out all the grime, dirt, oil and grease easily. Can even be used without water. Just wipe it off with a clean rug. Even smells good. HMR ones sold it for just around P349 a gallon which can last for a long long time.

Re: Hand Cleaners

Honestly, I grew up using Kerosene to clean my hands from grease and all as that is what I am accustomed to. Now that I know that it's not that safe, I mainly use Joy dish washing liquid primarily. If the grease is too much I use the local bar detergent soap first.

But I guess the one you posted above are still worth the money.

Yes JayL maintaining 3 motorbikes and a 4-wheel vehicle are really a handful of dirty/greasy hands. To include some friends bikes coming over for tweakings.

Re: Hand Cleaners

This is a nice tip! I bet they smell good too 🙂

When the cleaners run out - you could try wearing a pair gloves (I use disposable latex gloves) - minimal cleanup 🙂

Re: Hand Cleaners

There is in Ace hardware and DIY stores but not by the gallon, only a liter or less. The biggest I saw is in HMR a long time ago by the gallon as in the picture. Disposable gloves are also good and I use it a lot also.

Re: Hand Cleaners

THANKS a lot bro vrcinfo,

I'll check out a DIY shop/store tomorrow in the next town near us. These hand cleaners will surely come in handy specially when handling rusted or oily metals instead of using kerosene or regular gasoline. :2thumbsup:

Hi Bro,

Minimize or do away with those as it can be absorbed by your skin and harmful to your health in the long run.

Hi Bro,

Ang surgical gloves pag natagalan na nadikit sa langis o grasa nageexpand, nawawala ang pagka fitting nya, nagrurupok at madali mapunit. Pwede rin namn, kung masisira e di palit agad, tutal madami naman e.

Re: Hand Cleaners

Wow. Didn't know surgical gloves are so cheap.

I actually order nitrile gloves sa US pa but much more expensive than surgicals. Nitrile gloves are tough. I can use a pair a number of times but can be unsanitary since my hands sweat a lot inside. After use, I pull them off para ma-inside-out, then dry them.

Re: Hand Cleaners

maybe archie was quoting the disposable ambidextrous latex gloves as "surgical gloves"...anyway what i meant is the sterility issue here..individually packaged pair of Ansell surgical gloves can fetch between 30-50p a pair..i am not a surgeon but yes these latex gloves are too easy to break when working with chemicals especially chemicals related to paints and its solvents.

because nitrile gloves are expensive but durable than natural latex gloves, i can use it maybe twice or thrice before the garbage bin uses it...they (nitrile) are especially nice to use when applying oil based stains..

there are black colored chemical grade rubber gloves available at mall hardawares but then again they still wear out in the end after a dozen applications...i did not say they are NOT comfy to the hands as they are thick and heavy.

grease, oil and what nots that you apply to metal surfaces, bearings, etc arent exactly my thing nowadays but during the high school days, i remember being so engrossed assembling bmx bikes..heard of dia compe, sugino cranks? and yes i use the bareta bar or some powder soap to remove the scum..wala pang Joy dishwashing liquid nun! hehe

those were the old days.
