Re: handplane tuning and basics

As Usual, masaya ulit yun samahan.

Medyo na control din food - hindi na umaapaw sa dami.

Thanks for your guidance. Couldn't help myself, I immediately tried my No. 4 on an old piece of rough Kamagong I've had for some time. Got great results. My No.4 hasn't cut that well for some time and the tuning really got it working very well. Glass smooth finish! The kamagong still need a lot of work . Will have probably to convert my No. 6 to a scrub plane to finish cleaning it. Next step - sharpen all my plane blades to scary sharp....

Good to know your #4 works well now..Planing becomes fun once the handplane works as expected..

Planing kamagong, i already imagine you honing frequently when working with that wood..

Workbench, Miss ko na yung Japanese plane mo with the very thick blade! So easy to sharpen freehand. Sayang, could not attend that day.

BTW: To those who have NEW stanleys, the ones with the molded plastic handles and knobs. It's good to smoothen the mold marks / lines with fine sand paper. If it is still there and if you are not wearing gloves, you will easily be more prone to blisters.

JAY, I thought you were only in your forty's you dont look like your past 50 already, it seems its gonna be me who would feel insecure or would feel out of place in the next EB coz I'm already in my mid fifties but still like what you said still very energetic, still fast in movements, do calisthenics in the morning, rides my cyclone trainer which is good for stamina and heart.8)

I do pump some iron in my bench press, does not smoke nor drink [red wine or on occasions only] and eat lots and lots of vegetables.

@ JayL

Bro at your age you should be concern of your health specially concerning the heart, you know like hypertensions. Traydor na sakit yan. You should have regular blood pressure check ups just to know if it changing or not.

At my age I'm already taking maintenance drugs every day due to high blood pressure.

Teka muna bakit ba nauwi sa edad at medical discussions ang pinag uusapan natin dito, diba ang thread na ito ay para sa " handplane tuning and basics" , parang nalihis ano?
