I found a slight beat brand new Panther step down transformer at Ace hardware.

upon inspection, I found it to be a 5,ooo watts model...

I was told that it costs a little over 9K and had been repriced three times...

sells for tree payb but because of the first few hour sale it went down a bit more. the gloat price is tupayb...
did I do good? 😀

Wow! And I just got me a 3kw Samwon for P3.7k!

Great find. Gloating is justified.

Re: How about a little gloat?

hehehe, I do suggest that anyone else interested should look out in different Ace hardware for the same brand and model. I have reason to believe that they are phasing it out and replacing them with chips and electronic models and are marked down as well.
I still dont have a use for it at he moment since the 2kw I am using works very well, should I make a shop someday, this will be wired for the whole place, dang, I could use it even at home and start buying american brands on sale... :p

Re: How about a little gloat?

Why not just wire your place for a 110V, saves on transfromers.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Re: How about a little gloat?

If I had a step down transformer with such capacity then I'd wire my shop for 110V wiring and just make the Panther stationary in one location.

we were asked that option before we transferd to our home, they were asking 20K back then, so we decided we'll use transformers instead (cheaper and we can bring them in case we transfer homes) besides we only had two 110V appliance before. all my tools were 220V back then...

Re: How about a little gloat?

but because of the first few hour sale it went down a bit more

Is that one of those 'additional 10% off but only one day (usually a weekday), only 10-12, only with SM card' hoop that they make their customers jump through for a measly reward, as if customers were hamsters?

If one had a significant amount to buy and could conform to that timing, that could be a reason (the only reason I can think of) to get that SM Disadvantage Card.
