Hey V,

What's wrong with your 6 yr/o Rott ? Maybe she's preggy kaya siguro matamlay
or ate something that's giving her an upset stomach. 😮

Knock Knock Knock, any vet in the house ? 🙂

Re: Is there a Vet in the house? Need help!

she is a dear dog to me...

I sent her today thru someone to a vet and she came back with an IV bottle and tubings...

I found out two days ago that she had a 2cm cauliflower-like "tumor" growing on the right corner of her mouth and I was told by the vet that it could be something like a "transmissible venereal tumor"..i read about it and doubted the vet's diagnosis..since most of her life, she was in her cage and never had the chance to mingle with other dogs (although the "tumor" is said to arise spontaneously)..this condition is almost always due to copulation...

her blood test results that she has an ongoing infection (very high white blood cell count) and very low platelets...she is also very anemic...(mahirap sabihin maputla sa aso kasi covered ny thic hairs ang skin...)

three days ago the househelp also told me that she noticed some bleeding in the mouth of the dog and the day after, her poops was blackish (more likely due to a bleeding elsewhere in the gastrointestinal tract)...

that could be the reason why she had no appetite for the last three weeks...nakakagat siguro niya yung tumor and it bleeds and it could be painful...and I was too busy to check on her.

I was also told that at her age, it is too risky to put her on anesthesia (if we decide to remove the "tumor"...)

her genitals are not "swollen"...kasi I also thought at first that she could be "menstruating"...pero hindi naman yata nag me menstruate mga dogs..baka nage-estrus (heat)...unlike humans do.

I once had a dog and when he died of old age after about 12 years, I said to myself that I would not own a dog anymore unless there is a dog that can live past 100 years.

here I go again...

I just don't know when its time to say good bye.

Damn, I feel so sad for your Rottweiler and only 6 years old, still very young but maybe its really time to go and say goodbye.

So sorry V for your loss , I know how painful it is to loose a very dear pet. I myself lost some a few years back and we loved them so dearly and treated them as family. Masakit sa dibdib loosing these
wonderful Gods creation that gives unconditional love to its master. 🙁

Sad and heart broken bro V !!

Re: Is there a Vet in the house? Need help!

oo nga bro...

i checked on her at 1am and she was still there as if nothing was wrong...

at 7 am..my brother fed her some bread but she had no energy to stand up and drink her milk

then at 8am, i checked on her and she was enjoying i the morning sun...pat her head and it was hot already and told her to stand up and find some cooler place...left her for some backyard chores...little did i know that 30 minutes later we will find her under the shade of the yellow bamboo trees lifeless...(2nd picture above)

she never wimpered or whined during her last moments..a dog with a strong personality.

she was buried in the garden where she used to pee and poo.

my other dog, a 5 year old beagle ( a mischievous teaser) will miss her a lot more than us for sure.

So sorry, Doc.

I have lost some faithful four-legged friends, too. Never easy.

I am bracing myself for my Google (14 year old Lab). He has cataracts and does not walk steady anymore. We all can just take comfort in the knowledge that they were loved throughout their lives.

@ding,

wow! 14 years hah!

you must have taken care very well of that dog to last that long...Hooray!

I am not sure if euthanasia is a better option.

but I am rooting for it.

@doc V,

that is really sad!

my Dalmatian is almost 11.5 years now and a little bit weak - hindi na masyadong makulit.

that's him on my Avatar when he was 5 months old.
When i was in trouble, i've used to contact http://thedogtor.net/emotional-support-animal-letter that always gave me a hand with my dog.
