This is the first thread in our newest forum "The Gazebo". Sort of an ice-breaker, this forum will serve as sort of "Water Cooler" where members can mill around, hang out, and talk about stuff other than tools, DIY projects, etc.
to get this off, maybe we can have a location 'roll call'. just reply with your location (can be general or specific, its up to you, but at least down to the level of the town or city.
to keep this thread positive (good vibes), write something you love about the place, why you are staying where you are now.
here goes mine:
Sta Mesa Heights, QC.
less than 2 kilometers from where i work, and less than a kilometer where my daughter goes to school. high topography, malayo sa baha, medyo tahimik...
feel free to post mga kapatid! you can also start new threads, if you like 🙂

Been trying to DIY since I was 7 years old, when I tried to fix an alarm clock and just destroyed it. Probably have destroyed more things than I have built. But I am getting better.

i am a DIY mom. if i can't do it myself, i go call somebody to handle things for me, but i tell DO them how to DO it 😉 , my way of course, at least i know what it takes to do it and how much i need to pay them to do the job. and it is good to know at least a few house hold tricks, so i hope every one keeps sharing!
Re: Location Roll Call
Sampaloc jologsville that is why I want to move the hell out of here. Talk to some brokers january 2007 for a lot in Katarungan village in Muntinlupa but they were not professional so I backed out of the deal so I am lot hunting again.
I have limited budget so I intend to DIY my house, meaning, get a good foreman and other workers and supervise them. I can't afford a contractor. I plan to have the shell put up, the ground floor kitchen, dining and sala plus my Mom's room then the rest little by little when I have more money.
Re: Location Roll Call
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Been here with my family since the 80's.
Cheers to the guys who set up this website. You are doing a great and invaluable service to our kababayans.
I came across this great site while looking for Meralco's service connection set-up. I was entertaining the idea of rewiring our house in QC to 110v.
I intend to contribute as much as I can to this DIY community. I have done a lot of renovation projects on my house and hope to share some tips that may lessen the grief of doing a new project the first time. At the same time, thru this forum, I am getting educated on the new trends, products and practices there in the Philippines.
Good luck to all you DIYers!
