Re: midnight club...

This is ridiculous. Really. No, I mean really.

Whoa.

Is this photoshopped?t the owwm site, they talk of "aircraft carriers" of joiners 24" wide etc. But...

http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/2506665/WOOD+WORKING+MACHINE-+Jointer+Planner+Circular+%22Industrial+Type%22?referralKeywords=wood+machine

Don't worry, sa inyo nalang, don't have the money and uhm.. i don't have the shop space (haha!) But can we guys group up and visit the place? I just want to gawk and see this for myself =).

Edit: oops i think there's some optical illusion involved. I reckon the jointer's a 12" and the planer's a 'standard' 24".

Re: midnight club...

Last week, went back to my folk's house and found that the electrical outlet for the fridge is burned. (It even smoked before the housemaid pulled it, gotta thank her for that.) Removed the face plate and the metal casing was sparking. Geez.

So I turned off the breaker- every breaker for good measure- and found out that:
1.The innards were a bit wet (because of a roof leak that incidentally drips right into where the outlet is.)
2. It was muddy (care of termites.)
3. The gauge 12 wire was stripped too much, has an exposed part (shoddy workmanship.)

Accidents happen when several factors come together... (Kinda enjoyed NGC's "minutes from disaster" program in tv.)

I fixed it. Does it take special skills or tools to be a handyman? Humbly... not really. I was just being sensible/careful, and followed the instructions supplied faithfully. It was very specific on how much to strip (10mm-12mm) etc...

(An electrician came the next morning- my work was good- he cleaned the termite crap and sealed an unused conduit that went into the ground.)

*makes mental note to get the complex wire stripper that my grandfather has in the province*
It looked like this:

already took his other tool which looked like this:
