Re: midnight club...

Yup very much. I was able to do a display box pretty quickly with it. More accurately too since the piece doesn't have a chance to move when nailing. Some of the reviews are correct about the noise though, my ear closest to the gun usually starts to ring after a few clips.

Unless your just kidding, maybe what moji meant was the ear closer to the nailer in normal range use :p

Re: midnight club...

A late model Honda CRV was just towed to my home shop today. The suv has 140+ km and still with the original timing belt installed. Apparently it broke while owner was driving.

This could be messy and very expensive to fix. Hondas have Interference type engines. Belt breaks valves go too and what others we don't know yet as of now.

Please always be aware of your vehicles' Timing Belt replacement interval. Replacing the TB at the required manufacturer's interval is cheap insurance compared to the consequences if this maintenance sched is neglected or prolonged.

I think the Altis uses a Timing Chain instead of a Timing Belt.

Best to check your owners manual sir unless we have some Toyota specialist here who can chime in more on this.

Re: midnight club...

broken timing belts will often result to damages in the valve train and even sa pistons whatever make or model.
timing belts are often recommended to be replaced when the 100,000km mark is reached... I always have mine replaced at 80,000 kms.

What he speaks is true. This is one maintenance schedule you don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish.

Re: midnight club...

Is the kms accumulated the only measure as when to replace the timing belt? Im just curious because our rav4 is a 2006 model but has only 13k+ kilometers on it..

80K is a good number to follow Moji. even if you sit on the car running the ac all the time.... time frame is hardly use for these items. though inspecting them every 40K is wise...

Re: midnight club...

Here is the poor CRV sitting outside in the rain across my garage. Autospeed mechanic is still busy so he might not be able to work on it till day after tomorrow. I'll try to shoot some pics when we pull the job. Towing alone from Quezon City to Pasay cost 3,100 pesos already.

Re: midnight club...

@Jay

You mentioned that the timing belt gave while the person was driving, what happens when that occurs, is there a loud sound or does the engine just stall and shut down?
