Re: midnight club...

nice link Jay, I will visit the store today to check on Minmax machines. hope they have a decent bandsaw... 🙂 couldn't open thier pdf files from here.
will look for mahogany too, the conference table commissioned will require around 200++ bd.ft. of it...

Re: midnight club...

yup Migs, the design I made requires me 200 bd ft by local calculations... was able to get around 250bdft already, rough but oversized which is preferred in my opinion since I hardly encounter an s4s to be properly correct in size... some pieces were even 2 1/2" thick, by approximation I believe I should end with roughly 1 1/2" thickness for the finished parts... which is a lot better than buying 2 x 10" and having it at 1 5/8" x 9 3/4" and after cleaning ends up to 1 x 8 1/2"...
I see my muscles to improve once I start this project.... who wants to learn how to properly use your handplanes? 🙂

Re: midnight club...

Timb you need a jointer na and the new shop. Conference table malaki na yan.

Did you find anything in Belmonttools?

I did email Bosch to check the sizes of the feed supports. If not possible I'm checking out some small items so I can hopefully join you in the waiting time. 🙂

Re: midnight club...

hey guys...
yes Moji the thicknesser is around, but I am almost certain that there will be plenty of handplane work to be done...
Jay, yes a jointer would be a great idea now and maybe even better when the shop becomes available, but 6" ones won't cut it with these stocks, I would need no less than 12" for that matter.... something beyond my budget for the next 5 years...
I did find some bandsaws, mostly available from New Triumph in recto but in display and in full view. I did find one that had a 10 to 12" cutting capacity but it costs 115K, I am not sure if it was from AEG but is made in Germany.
there were Bessey's available but only in 8' and 9' models (yes they are 8 and 9 FEET clamps), there was one pc that had a 16" capacity but it was old and beat...
their powertool line is quite impressive and the prices ar quite comparative to manila prices, some items binondo priced pa....
Ben,
handling 200bdft isn't difficult, just find two helpers... ehehehe, but once I start on it, I see a lot of back pains. hahahaha.
I now am planning to build a thicknessser sled since I have no plans for a big jointer yet....a thicknesser stand and a guide system for it too...
