I'd like to share another hobby of mine. (Dapat yata sa tshirt forum ito.) Since my college days nahilig na ako mag print ng t-shirt mga single color lang. Pero when my skills sa wood working developed and my tool increased, I was able to build this

It's my 4 color single station t-shirt printer.

Version 4 na ito. Yung version 5 baka metal na. May kaunting flaws pa.

Re: My other hobby

Yes bro willy1467,

That's a very nice additional skill and can even be used for business, I took up also screen printing during my college days, silk screen and photo silk screen printing on our graphic design class and also made a little business doing that before I got employed in an advertising agency. Sayang din yuon, hindi ko na napag patuloy, then just concentrated on painting and joining group exhibitions.

Way to go brad, maganda yan na ginagawa mo !!! Do you know or have any knowledge in rubberized screen printing ?, just curious bro. :p

Thanks brad Willy1467. :cheerleader3:

Re: My other hobby

hi willy,

pareho din pala tayo ng ibang hobby!

back in my college days (1990's), i think i sold hundreds or maybe close to thousand shirts with my designs (purely medical images)...

the silk screens i made then was hand cut green film as i didnt know yet then the good thing about photoemulsions...i learned them later when i got no time anymore for this other hobby..

my favorite ink is still the one made by Tulco. i am sure there are a lot better inks now.

@rosy,

there are rubberized inks bro...they are usually called "embossed" inks...after squeegeing the ink, you let them dry and then subject them to your ordinary "plantsa" with a sheet of paper on top to prevent the ink/rubber from melting on direct contact with the "plantsa's" metal plate (shoe)...the "plantsa" is set in high...

Re: My other hobby

@rosy
Thanks bro. Rubberized lahat ng paint na gamit ko from Tulco & Screenart. Maganda sanang business kaya lang walang time for it. Nagagamit ko ito when printing the PE Tshirt of our school.

@ v
Na experience ko din yun mag cut ng green film pero red na ngayon paced out na ng Tulco. May bago method ngayon cymk printing yata. Mukha na talaga syang picture. Need to attend a seminar about it hindi palang mag push thru.

:thanks:

Re: My other hobby

galing ng ginawa mo classmate willy, walastik !!!
like V and rosy said, kumita rin kami ng barkada ko during college days sa t-shirt printing.
we only did the printing but not the creation of the silkscreen, punta lang kami sa recto, pagawa kami ng silkscreen with design we made, then sa bahay na kami nag-print...
may taga pahid, may taga salansan, may taga sampay , may taga plantsa,
division of labor....
hating kapatid sa kinikita.
hangang CEU nakabenta kami...:):)

Re: My other hobby

You mean to say brothers that from the old days up to now no. 1 pa din ang silk screen T shirt printing technique?

How about yun mga transfer iron ons. I remember way back that Epson made this kind of paper. I've seen some do it but am not sure about the longevity of the transfer prints.

Nice printing jig you made there Bro Willy ... I reckon it increased the speed and ease of printing.

Re: My other hobby

For production volume, screen printing pa din mas economical.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Wow. It's amazing! The only t-shirts I made on my own were Tie-dye. But they were cool too 🙂 Speaking of hobbies, mine is traveling. But my vacation isn't gonna be soon. The only thing I can do now is watching live streams from my favourite places. Like this one from Deerfield https://worldcams.tv/united-states/deerfield-beach/pier .

That's nice! Have you ever tried to earn with your hobby? I think that you must do it in the 21st century. We have a lot of opportunities now. If I were you I would start to make pictures for instagram and visit site for gaining popularity

It does looks beautiful and i'm glad to see people sharing their creative hobbies. I mean, sometimes i fell like i'm the only one who is still doing something apart from posting photos in instagram. For instance, i just adore doing diamond https://www.floatingstyles.com/products/diamond-painting-make-your-own-paint that creates unique atmosphere at home that you do on your own. Isn't it great?
