Hi guys,

As most of us know (or for the other's information) PayPal has two kinds of payment, "Online Purchases" and "Personal Payment". Of course when you buy in ebay, you pay in "Online Purchases" since ebay is a kind or entity or company.

I wonder what kind of payment do you choose when you pay an individual online? Let's say for example in sellers of buy and sell threads of other international fora?

Do you still pay in "Online Purchases" or "Personal Payment"? I'm not accustomed to forum negotiations and I'm worried that paying in "Online Purchases" mode (which the seller would pay the transaction costs) is incorrect and would require me again to pay and this time the premium he paid. On the otherhand, if I pay in "Personal Payments" I get to pay a transaction costs in PayPal instead.

How do you guys, go with it?

Re: PayPal Payment

If Paypal is available I always choose it for added protection. Be it personal or online.

I suggest you shoot Paypal an email and ask. They have excellent customer service.

Re: PayPal Payment

i am using paypal as a means of paying and receiving payment in ebay...Lots of purchases from abroad (hongkong, u.k., u.s. etc).. So far so good with no problems encountered but as an added precaution pay only to Paypal Verified member or power seller (their identity and address verified thru their Credit Card) and for worst case scenario, you can open a dispute in paypal so that yopu could claim back your payment once your item bought didnt arrived/received as you expected..

Re: PayPal Payment

Thanks guys. What I'm worried is when I buy from individuals selling in foreign woodworking sites. Since they are not a business like ebay or amazon, I cannot predict whether "Online Purchase" or "Personal Payment" would suffice. of course if I ask the seller, he would go for the "PP". I just wanted to be informed so I could contest if needed.

Re: PayPal Payment

I'd probably just be a bit more careful paying with the PP " gift option". I heard it's got lesser protection but I have not really looked into it myself.
