How about basing the design from a Handyman's pocket ally - the Swiss Army Knife?

I am thinking of an open Swiss Army Knife concept with the different tools that a Handyman uses would replace the gadgets in a SAK. Then the red body/case would be in a shape of a Handyman's tool box (like the one we have in the forum logo). The SAK logo (Victorinox or Wenger) would be replaced by the Philippine flag. Then on this body is engraved or printed the text Pinoy HandyMan in two layers/rows. The font of "Pinoy" could be smaller and on top of the bigger font of HandyMan. Text color could be in Blue. The tools could be in white and yellow. The 4 colors - blue, red, white, yellow - represent the colors of the Philippine flag.

I searched the Net, and surprisingly, I could not find any design of this concept. Or I maybe wrong....

I am not good in Photoshop or any Illustrator program. But I will try to make draft later.

Instead of silk screen prints, you can design the logo in Photoshop and have it printed at full color A4 or A2 size
at a Transfer It branch. They can do single or volume orders for about P 350 (including the shirt). Pretty reasonable.
They'll print out using an inkjet printer using special iron on paper. Then heat press it on the shirt. Quality is very good and durable, like rubberized.

Actually the original study is just half the size of what came out on the screen. ini scan na lang ng anak ko para madaling ma transfer sa photo bucket, only thing he was not able to reduce the size to a smaller image, ang gulat ko nga kung bakit mas malaki pa ang lumabas compared to the original study.

Anyway I'll post later four more thumbnail studies, I'll make sure it will appear smaller and easy to look at.

Joey why don't you chip in your hidden creative talent, try to visualize a logo for the PHM and then post your thoughts, malay mo maka pulot din ng ideas ang ibang member, e di ok.

hindi ba puedeng dagdagan ng drawing ng wrench, or katam (handplane) or hammer, or anything we DIY'rs commonly used ?

YES its easy to add graphic illustrations of different tools if, IF, the whole graphic design will be printed at the whole front of the t-shirt but if its gonna be on the upper left side only, tama sabi ni sir timber, simlpe but direct ang message, letting the name to speak for itself. 😎

Anyway I'll be posting more studies and will include the site name. 😉

Your proposed logo somehow reminds me of PM Junior's Pugad Baboy comic strip.
Hmnnn... Polgas' face on our shirts? Pero parang wala naman siyang kinalaman sa DIY. 🙁

what we do in brainstorming, all ideas, suggestions and inputs are all correct even if its somewhat not related, but who knows di ba? malay mo in the end makatulong.

Here is a layout study of the logo on a white T-SHIRT :p

this is just a possible layout for easy visualization of the logo with the site.
the graphics of the hand is not yet final, if approved it will still be refined or finalized.
