i think there are only a few air refiners here in the phil, probably 2 or 3, so i just get the best deal i can from a reseller since they'll come from the same factory anyways, the things to watch out for is price, and delivery sched, before my supplier was around 600 to 800 pesos higher and took several days to deliver so i had to stock up on cylinders, then i found one near us which was cheaper and if i order in the morning, they'll deliver in the afternoon, so its mostly price n service, i'm not sure though if they have mid sized cylinders, if they don't you can probably buy one and just have it refilled, in my case i needed a portable tank, so i just refill from my main tank, just need to have the tanks hydrotested regularly to be safe.....btw if your using the argon for mig, better get the full sized tank for you'll go through the entire bottle in just minutes.... tig uses far less argon than mig does.....hth

Frankly speaking bro I'm not so confident on the aluminum capability of the Millermatic 180 w/ a spool gun. However I still purchased a roll of 4043 to try it out. If it does not work well then I'll use the spool gun for stainless and smaller mig wires. At least it will be easier for me to swap wires on the welder.

That said I would probably spring for a rental argon tank. Mid size for testing aluminum mig welding. If it works out well then I'll switch it to a full size one.

Atgas is 10 mins away from me. I'll see what they can offer. The ArCo gas I have came from them.

Alvimco is also around 15 mins away from me. They do supply my Oxy Ace. Might as well check them too.

Important thing for me now is that I know already that what they supply is more or less the same quality gas as you have mentioned in a previous post. Will now see who is cheaper.

btw here's my welding table, an old narra office table with an 11mm steel plate table top and ground attachment on the side, the drawers are filled with tools and supplies.. i prefer wooden tables since the drawers are sturdier than their metal counterpart....

Is it possible to weld aluminum using oxy-ace or stick welding? what are the procedures? Nasira kasi sidings ng truck naputol yung angle bar and some sheet metals. Pwede naman i-rivet kaso hindi maganda.

I would think yes.

For stick welding you will need a special aluminum rod. Search www.weldingweb.com for stick or oxy ace aluminum welding.

you can do aluminum braze welding using aluminum flux and a 4047 rod and oxy acetylene or oxy lpg but the weld won't be as strong as a tig welded joint...

welded the head flange to the velocity stack

welded the velocity stack to the plenum base i hammerformed before

now ready for fabricating the plenum ....

have to port n polish the runners first before installing the plenum....

Do you also do the engine works bro aside from the welding fabrication needs?
