I need to cut hundreds of tiles. We used to use powertools for it until I saw this sliding tile cutter. Any idea what's a good one for industrial use (precise, works like a charm).

And a good shop where I can buy it (preferably within metro manila).

Thanks a lot!

Re: Tile Cutter

these sliding electricity less stile cutters have some drawbacks...they can only cut straight lines and circles upto 6 inches i think (with an accessory).

the best brand is Rubi (Made in Spain)..expect a dear price to pay...consumables are also available including the carbide wheel..do not settle for less.

another thing...they can only cut ceramic tiles..not for the harder granite (synthetic or natural)

Re: Tile Cutter

You can visit Wilcon Home Depot in Libis area, they have one there for industrial tile cutting also and if I remember right they were selling it for 15K to 18K. I would frequent that place also specially when I'm in need of large tiles or other power tools you would not see in mall hardwares or neighborhood DIY stores.

I think its the same brand that doc V has mentioned, Rubi from Spain, I think but correct me if I'm wrong, basta its an imported tile cutter, looks so sturdy and well made. Ang lapad ay isang dipa and on top of its own table support.

Check it out if you have time.

Maybe cutting your hundred tiles or more will just be a breeze with this well made tile cutter.
By the way they have three sizes there available then, they're using one for their customers wanting their purchased large tiles cut in half.

Re: Tile Cutter

Thank You Sirs for the replies!

Just an update, my dad and I scoured T.Alonzo last weekend for this and settled for a Taiwan made cutter for the mean time just to test the waters so to speak.

I was amazed at its efficiency. I think I can cut a thousand tiles in a day! We got one that doesn't make holes so I'm thinking, is there a drill attachment, sort of diamond hole cutter for ceramic?

I got it for 1K and 200 for the "tungsten carbide" extra blade at this Store where they display "Great Volume valves" (the owners, probably brothers, and their staff are very nice to deal with).

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's really carbide but it does work like a charm. We're going to bring this to Camiguin Island so I thought of buying an extra blade on the spot so we won't encounter any work delay when we're there. Meanwhile, it'll be tested for a manila project this coming weeks.

Thanks again!

Re: Tile Cutter

btw, we looked for Rubi in T. Alonzo and in Home Depot, pero wala, siguro sa Wilcon lang, haven't had the chance to go there yet.

Re: Tile Cutter

Thanks in advance
