Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

Hi Team,

I have 2 cordless tools - a tire inflator and a drill. Both are losing power and battery juice. I learned that batteries in the battery packs can be replaced. But I do not know where to buy those batteries. I opened both battery packs. The tire inflator (12V) has 8 individual batteries fused together while the drill has 14.

Can anybody tell me please where I can buy those individual batteries?

Cheers!

If you are like me and hate going to Quiapo and Binondo area there is a place in V mall greenhills top floor. They repack batteries. But they would be more expensive and if time permits. Raon would be a cheaper option i believe.

But check the V mall shop first, last time i saw them there was a year ago. forgot the name too

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

There are 2 kinds of battery type that were used in cordless drill /application..The nicad and lithium ion types..each individual battery has a voltage of 1.2v thats why i could be repack, but it was too expensive and almost same cost as if you were buying the drill set..If your drill were ryobi i have lots of nicad type-A+ condition and if its lithium type you could bring the sample for repack sa mga store at corner of G.Puyat (RAON) and F.Torres Sta.Cruz (across avenida pinakanto goin to binondo)..There is 3 store there one is ELPOH..another choice also in avenida corner bustos sa Maxwell Baterry Store they also repack there at cheaper price..last choice were at the mall but prices were higher..

I've never tried this before. If they repack can they close the original battery casing back?

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

The packs I've seen bro have screws. Sometimes the screws are hidden under the sticker(s).

Thanks pyth for sharing. I'm still waiting for my laminate trimmer :).

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

I love this group. Just a little over 24 hours since I posted my question and I already got 6 replies. Finally, I found a group that shares my passion for DIY.

Beebeenator, I am comfortable going to Binondo and Raon areas just like I am at ease in Greenbelt V. I will go check these 2 places then.

Pyth, Jarod and Timber 715, thank you for pinpointing the exact locations.

JayL, as bbn pointed out, I think there are 2 types of battery packs --- those which are fastened by screws and those which are glued together. If glued, you can just cut along the seam and put them back together with appropriate adhesive (I think). Mine have screws on them.

Thanks again to everybody.
:p

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

Thanks for the replies bros.

These are the battery packs. If these can be rebuilt then so much the better.

I have around 7 tools that use this same Versa Pack batteries and each cost around $14 each.

This Milwaukee cost around $25.

Do these stores also replace the cells in laptop battery packs (lithium-ion and supposedly 'smart'). Are these the places to go for big savings from 'refilling' versus buying brand new laptop battery packs at around P5,000+ ?

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

The stores also repack laptop batteries, but not all laptop batteries can be repacked. They can recommend you to buy a generic one instead. I got my laptop battery from Elfoh, and also my NiMh batteries.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Re: Where can I buy batteries for my battery packs?

theres a guy in ebay philippines that sells battery packs for all sorts of electronics

http://myworld.ebay.ph/kontrabulatekid/

I got two pda batteries from him. Both were pretty good.

his username is kontrabulatekid i think. First time i got the pda battery i went to his house. Then a year later he has centralized his logistics so it has become mail only. He told me his sideline was earning more than his day job..... 🙂

anyway. check his batts for price comparison
