Re: Bench Vise Stand.

that certainly looks huge, very nice and useful project BenQ, seems the welding improves as you are nearing the end. the pictures can be corrected in photobucket by resizing them there. use the 480 x 640 pixel size so it would fit perfect. then the edit button will come out again. Is that your personal shop or a common area shared by your people? hehehe, it seems to need a little cleaning and a bit of organization (pasencia na, but we will push you to work safer, better and cleaner as time goes by) so things can be easier to find and it would be safer to work on. you seem to have a nice working space, something a lot of us don't have...
cheers.

Re: Bench Vise Stand.

Ben , what size is the Wilton vise? That purchase is a steal as those vises are somewhat bullet proof in design and manufacture.

Lots of threads on restoring those old vises at garagejournal.com.

Nice design of a movable bench vise stand & looking forward for more post on your welding project. .

Re: Bench Vise Stand.

I just resized the pics. Thanks.
Yes this is just my garage and the washing machine is the only thing that do not belong to me.
I would like to blame that mussy workplace to my non-existent workbench table.
Yup. I tend to scatter my materials and tools when im doing a project, While working on a foot stool with all pieces on the floor its kind of drag for me to sit up and down just to keep everything clean and in order as i go. Of course im cleaning it at the end of the day. I guess i will have no more excuse once i've done my next project -- a workbench table.

Im on a 2-meter wide work area beside my 2 motorbikes and a car.

Re: Bench Vise Stand.

When i measured the jaw opening, its more than 6inches.
I m actually not planning to put a wheel on it but it wont budge when you want to move it somewhere. It needs 2 person just to drag it. Now with the wheels in it, i can move it alone.

thanks for the link.

Re: Bench Vise Stand.

those england and american vise im seeing are either not big enough or ridiculously expensive (wilton usa 35k (LYS hardware)!!). To cut my introduction short, i got a 9" nicholson from LYS hardware for 7500pesos.
...
I just resized the pics to 320x240 then refresh the page but still no change.

Did they have other sizes of Nicholson and Wilton? Were the other Wilton sizes also ridiculously expensive?

Does resizing replace (overwrite) the file referred to by the posted URL, or does it create a new file with a new URL? If the latter, then the posted URLs need to be changed.

How to edit a post when the Edit button has disappeared, explained in this past thread (coincidentally also on vises):
http://www.pinoyhandyman.com/showthread.php?t=713&page=2
Try post IDs starting at 10418.

This website doesn't handle large images robustly.

Re: Bench Vise Stand.

Only the US made wiltons are expensive. They also have chinese made wiltons which is relatively cheap.
IIRC, the 4 or 6 inch jaw US wilton is around 35k.
