Re: Chop Saw

Thanks Rosy.

I am willing to settle for the "small brothers" if there is a significant price difference and since I will be using it occasionally only.

Any tips on what to look for in chop saws? Size, RPM, etc?

Bro, the so called "small brothers" will just be fine, the SKIL is also from Bosch, MAKTEC is from Makita, and BLACK&DECKER from DeWalt. Basically all chop saws carry 14" dia. of cutting disc and have also the same RPM. 🙂

Maybe another point to look for in a chop saw is the clamping and adjusting mechanism, if it can hold the material to be cut at any angle properly and firmly. 😉

Re: Chop Saw

I was finally able to go to Binondo yesterday.

I got the Maktec MT240

I did not bring a vehicle so I was thinking of going back today. But at the last minute, I ask how much it weigh (16kg) and decided to buy it and carry it on my shoulders.

Was able to board the provincial bus to Laguna without hassle except the pollution which is too much for my sinus (rode a jeepney since LRT is quite full at carriedo at 2:30pm!!!).

I hope to test it sooner.
