I'm a student, female in fact and i'm interested in woodworking and I stumbled upon dremel rotary tool. Is this a good tool to work with? Since Bamboo is abundant in the Philippines, I figured I can start with bamboo and dremel? I'm not sure though.. Anyone selling their used dremel rotary tool? 😀 It's quite expensive for me to begin with,or maybe dremel is worth it? Is Panda hardware in araneta ave the cheapest place to buy it? 🙂

Bamboo, like most endemic species in the Philippines is an interesting material to work with. If handled properly it will yield to many fascinating uses. Dry it properly and use an appropriate treatment for insects or borers before you use it on your projects. Any solvent type of varnish or paint will work wonders on this material. Depending on your build, Dremel has multiple uses and attachments that may help you with your project because of it's handiness and ease of use. However, motor power and cost of accessories may affect volume production even if it's just a trinket design you are working on. There are alternate brands that you may look into, be it 2nd hand or new, that are lesser in cost to practice with. Check the latest ads for this listing. Good luck!:)

The last time I checked Dremel prices I found that Panda has the cheaper prize and with better support. They do keep stocks of other Dremel accessories too. I'm sure they are the local dealer if not the distributor.
