I was thinking of getting a dremel rotary tool. Is anyone familiar with it? are there any other brand of rotary tools that are cheaper in price?

Re: dremel / rotary tools
Dremel is still the best (rotary) tool you can buy. The attachments are excellent and complete though the local retailers might not have it.
There is an authorised distributor and service centre in the G. Araneta area in Q.C. Am not sure but it might be Panda Hardware or something like that. They would probably have all the attachments
and maybe even cheaper. They can fix your unit, warranty or if it fails in the long term. Just ask the place where you finally get your Dremel, what is the warranty period and who will fix it if needed.
There are (very) cheap (China) rotary tools out there, usually from those TV home shopping type programs but have not seen any lately. Ace, Tru-Value and maybe even Handyman used to have them but haven't seen anymore of them lately.
You might be able to get them on eBay.ph, but surely you'd be able to get them (albeit 120 V.A.C.)
from eBay.com in the U.S.
Have been using Dremel for decades and have gotten myself out of many jams with it, so if you are a dedicated/budding craftsman/carpenter/DIYer who does a lot of fine work in various types of materials, wood, plastic, metals, get a DREMEL !!
And remember when you use it, overheating the motor is your enemy, if you have to grind or cut a lot, use it but also rest it periodically. You will know from the heat & smells coming out.
Happy grinding !!

Re: dremel / rotary tools
I was able to pass by Panda and I was able to buy a dremel multi speed - 3k. But a word of caution be careful when you go to Panda - they have lots and lots of nice tools - you can easily spend thousand and thousands on tools 😀

Is the Dremel tool that is being sold at Panda 220 volt?
When there used to be Dremel at True Value (?), they were 110 volt units.
Is this it (from http://www.eye.ph/ ) --

hmm... panda eh? what's the atmosphere like? is it like going to ace or something where you can just do your own walking around the shelves and looking (and resisting the urge to buy) on your own?
Safety first - always wear face/eye/ear/hand protection as a minimum.
