Re: Harborfreight experience

Sir, hindi ba ganun yun? Di po ba makakaorder sa HF tapos papaship sa address ng Forex?

Yes, we've been doing that with Amazon and other sellers. But where's the part where you place the orders from HF? That's our point of interest.

Post #2 on this thread:

And they only accept credit cards issued in the US. 😡
...

... for ordering online. That's why I want to try ordering over the phone.

Hold on....

IIRC...
I bought online and thru brick/mortar (Cicero Ave. in Chitown) using my Metrobank VISA.
The online purchase was a camo tarp that was out of stock at said store, and extra blades
and pads for a Fein multimaster knockoff ("Chicago"). Granted, I placed my online order
while still in the US, but that shouldn't make a speck of difference because it was online.
Shipping address was US and I took receipt of them while there. I also did the same with
Northern Tool to get a half-ton hoist delivered.

Hmnnn.... What billing address did you give? The online form accepts only US addresses, and giving Forex warehouse address as billing address doesn't work.

Now that you mention it... I do seem to recall having to call them up about it
(or was that cduniverse?). If I'm not mistaken, I was required to send them a
facsimile of one of my cc (or utility?) bills before proceeding... somewhat of a
hassle since all said bills were back here in PH.

...and no, I don't think you can use a 'fake' billing address, as it wouldn't check
out versus your cc particulars.

Just to settle things once and for all: I logged back onto HF to check, and I'm
still registered. I had to search through old notes to find my old password. The
cc I'd used to order back then is however already-cancelled (I'd switched to
another bank/card), so I tried updating to the new particulars, and it certainly
looks like I'd have to call customer service to proceed. As I've no plan to order
from them again, it's just as well, lol...

tl;dr ...just give them a call.
BTW don't mention anything about freight-forwarders to PH.
After placing my order for the hoist (from NT), delivery was surprisingly held-up,
pending email clarification on whether or not delivery was to a personal address
or to a freight-forwarding service.

I emailed them that it was indeed a personal address in the US.
No lie, as the address was my wife's folks' residence, where we were staying.
NT promptly emailed back that the order had been shipped. I've no idea what
would've happened if I'd replied otherwise, or tried to go through a forwarder.

A lot of the stuff sold in HF and NT comes from China and Taiwan, and there
may be exclusionary distribution agreements at work: HF and NT can't sell or
send products where their suppliers are already doing retail of the same stuff.

Anyway, good luck.
🙂

Re: Harborfreight experience

The thread is already 5 pages long, just one question.

Has anybody successfully ordered online from Harbor Freight, using a Philippine credit card with a Philippine billing address and had it sent to a forwarder/relative in the United States?

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

I actually used a citibank and a bdo card already, both of course are Philippine issued, but I used a US billing address and sent to a forwarder and a relative in the US.
