Re: hydraulic jack repair

SAE 20 oil a.k.a. ATF....pwede rin SAE 10.....but i suggest you better buy a new one to be safe. don't trust those repair shops run by shoddy mechanics. sometimes they use spent 0-rings.

Re: hydraulic jack repair

^yes sir.

i watched that "siranic" do the job. he may have fast hands but my eyes are big....he removed an 0-ring from a relatively new jack than mine then transferred to my jack. actually that jack of mine was old, collecting dust and rust at a corner and tried if i can give a new life on it. turned out that "siranic" hammered the last nail on its coffin.

better look for better mechanic... sometimes when we try to find the cheapest solution, often turns out more expensive :cow:
btw, o-rings are cheap depending on the size... :jawdrop::jawdrop:

yup. one good and bad thing i learned with regards to those equipment.

and i'm better than any mechanic around my place now (i think so:p) esp. that jack mechanic. most mechanics here rely on "gut-feel" diagnosis. hehe

Re: hydraulic jack repair

used AFT or PS fluid will do for oil... for O-ring, you can buy at banawe cor retiro (sorry i forgot the name of the shop) specializing in hydraulic hoses...

nbr o-rings will be ok but if you can find h-nbr (being used for 134 a/c system), it would be better.... HTH

I'm not sure if that one has parts available. However if you want to DIY it then here's a thread on Import Jack Rebuilding. It deals mostly on the bigger jacks but you can get a lot of ideas here since mostly these jacks have the same principle of operation.

ATF and nbr o-ring lang kailangan mate. i personally guarantee that it will work like new without looking for the original manufacture's parts...

but still the seals need to be replaced....my jack is also leaking and i always bring along my mechanical jack for added safety.

i'll rebuild my hydraulic jack later on with the help of the link provided by sir JayL.
