Does anyone here have an impact wrench just for hobby or home use? If so, what are the specs of the air compressors you using?

Thanks in advance

Impact wrenches are not air hogs. More of like intermittent use of air. I got by using 3/8" and 1/2" drive impact wrenches with my Vespa 1 HP compressor till I got a bigger 3 HP unit. Sometimes with a small compressor like 1 HP you have to wait for it to charge up again to give the gun the full power it needs at 90 psi. Not a show stopper for just DIY or home use.

Be careful buying generic non branded air impact wrenches. More often than not these won't even break lose lug nuts torqued at 90 ft-lbs. Pls don't ask me how I know ... LOL

That said I use only Ingersoll Rand and Snap On air impact wrenches now.

Hope this helps.

Re: Impact wrench requirements

Thank you for the reply, JayL. It's comforting to know that I can get by with something like a 1hp vespa. I was thinking that I'll need something that's higher than 2hp to make it work. Actually, I'll only need to it break off a stubborn nut or two at a time.

Thanks again!
