Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

Looks nice.

I'm not familiar with Milwaukee at all except that I see those funky red tools in Home Depots (US) a lot. What batteries and blades does your jigsaw use?

In terms of quality and pricing, who would Milwaukee be a at par with? Bosch? Makita? Festool? DeWalt? B&D? ...

Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

...honestly its my first time to use these red tools too, maybe a more expert in tools can answer them.

... i rely most on forums in choosing my tools. a group will claim this brand is better than that brand, or this will take that any day, etc, etc. but no one can zero-in on a perfect brand of tool. i tried a bosch, makita, dewalt, b&d, aeg, (never a festool because of the price, its just not economical for my budget) if most say its a decent tool, i try them. if they're not, then i try another brand. if it ever stands by its name, its for keeps until the next new tool wins me over.

...you can hardly see milwaukee brands here years ago, perhaps online and they would rarely be willing to ship it to asia locations. but since a company "leung yau company" started selling them here locally, who can resist? i need to try one them red things too before i die. hehehe...

...pricing, for me the investment would be cheaper. because its locally available for me here. for my m12 line up plan, i started with a charger and a battery first. then my first tool a jigsaw, then my next is the hammer drill, then an impact, then an led work light, a hackzall, and a multi tool. all bare tools. and im not required to purchase them all at once. unlike the other brands that needs to be purchased in a set together with the tool. or if ever its a bare tool, you still need to buy it online, then a shipping fee will add to the cost of the tool.

...for quality, its still needs to be put into test.

...it uses t-shank blades. these new 12volt red lithium batteries use a samsung battery. not an exclusive technology, and used also on the ridgid tool lines.

...side by side with a bosch and a makita 10.8v (...dont have a 12v)

Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

...though the unit is made in china, the plus is the charger and battery that are made in germany...

Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

Looks like Milwaukee M12 tools are good.

A lot of guys at www.garagejournal.com rave on this and build complete kits of this Milwaukee series.

For me I'd say Milwaukee tools are in the same league as Bosch, Dewalt and Makita.

Millermatic 180 Autoset Mig Welder
Miller Spoolmate 100 Spool Gun
Victor Firepower 350 Oxy Ace Outfit
3M Speedglas 9002X AD Helmet
Makita LC1230 Dry Cut Saw
Ingersoll Rand Air Tools
Snap On Tools
Metabo Power Tools
Norseman Drill Cutting Tools
Bosch Power Tools
3M PPS

...can be pivoted to make bevel cuts, quick release in the blade holder for changing blades (warning: the blades shoots out when released, position it on a table when releasing the blade.) good for quick changing a hot blade.

...battery gauge and lock for trigger...

Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

...with battery attached...

...im not good in reviews just my ideas, heavier than their hackzall, great full rubber top handle placement , combines the best features from both top handle and barrel grip jigsaw designs.

...the handle and overall design are closely the same as with milwaukee's drill and drivers. in my opinion the variable speed trigger was very accurate. i just hope it stays that way for a very longgggggg time.

...not saying that this will replace your corded jigsaw. but ideal for carpenters, remodelers, plumbers and electricians. this tool may perhaps be a perfect solution for making quick cuts in wood, metal, wall tile, or plastics without the hassle of pulling out a long cord.

...lamp on when trigger is engaged, and stays on for 10sec even if trigger is released...

...lamp on without the anti splintering insert...

Re: Milwaukee Tools [M12 Series]

...they say this tool with the new redlithium battery will have 40% more run-time, 20% more power and 50% more recharges. will also operate in extreme temperatures as low as 0°F/-18°C and will run 20% cooler, with fade free power and no memory effect...well let's see...only time can tell.

...amen...
