How do you guys store your Oxygen and Acetylene tanks when not in use for a considerable amount of time. Do I need to remove the hoses and regulators and store the tanks separately?

Welding newbie here. ???

Thanks a lot.

Don't leave the hose in the sun is what I know. I remove the hose, and cover the regulator with a bag.

Re: Oxygen and Acetelyne Tanks storage

Did you install any other safety devices like Flash Back arrestors or reverse flow check valves. I'm a bit concerned about safety because this will be used semi indoors inside the workshop.

I actually bought an older model ( maybe 8-10 year old) but unused Victor torch from a friend for a song and dance.. I am not sure if it comes with built in arrestors because of limited info I found on the net.

Can anybody share some light on this. The Torch Model is WF-350C.

Uy JACKPOT! From your pictures I don't see any arrestors. You can buy them separately though at any industrial supply. I have to confess that I've not use acetylene. I've watched others of course and it does not seem so hard but I've been waiting to hit the "jackpot" too for an acetylene tank. So far all my work has been using it as a cutting torch with LPG as the fuel.

Re: Oxygen and Acetelyne Tanks storage

Yeah I can say Jackpot considering the money I shelled out. However the arrestors are expensive. Victor FBR-1 for the regulator side runs upwards $70. Frankly speaking I would not run an oxy acetelyne setup w/o FB arrestors at least on the regulator side. Too risky for home use.

I will try to check other brands from local industrial suppliers as you
suggested.
