I made the mistake of buying a Talon many years ago for P6.5k. It works fine. The mistake was buying one in the first place. I have 4 manual block planes I normally use but I think I have 6 or 7 actually.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't really know why but my password would not work for the past weeks.

I say it is mistake because it is one of the least used tools I have despite being one of the most costly. I prefer not to use it for the following reasons:

1. It is heavy
2. The cuttings are slices rather than slithers
3. I need to sharpen 2 blades instead of one

Before I bought a jointer, I was thinking of making it into a jointer/planer by mounting it on a table. I think it would be worthwhile.

count me in on the mistake list... I should have just gotten a block one and a circular saw instead... ::)
