Hi,
I had to afix a few stuff in multiple bathrooms and I had a hard time using spade tile bits (tungsten carbide tips). In fact I broke 2, dulled and heated 1 to red hot (just like a disc brake). I still got one more sharp enough, but I got sick and tired of using it. Could just be me, but then spending more than 15 mins per hole is way too long, not to mention the time i needed to rest the bit (cool down).
I searched over several hardware stores for replacements and I got this - http://www.rubi.com/products/en-US/perforation/diamond-drill-bits--wet-cut/easy-gres-drill-bit-sets-o-732-to-12-6--12-mm.php
I got the 6mm and 8mm kits for boring holes for plastic fasteners. I have to say, this kit saved me much of my time. If it took me more than 15 mins per hole with the spade bit, this only took me less than minute per hole!
BTW, manual says it can take down up to 10 holes, but then I was able to bore 18 holes yesterday, and more tonight when I get back home.
I'll be trying out ordinary molding tapes later as a replacement for the packaged double sided tape. Hope it holds!
