with edge guide attachment bought elsewhere...with plastic heel at rest..left or right dust port...i cant live without this tool to initially dimension lumber and before feeding to the thicknesser

with the edge guide attached, this planer is more like a small jointer! btw, the planer pictured in the box is my first planer..bought in 1993 for 3K at the entrance of Raon st (now Gil Puyat st..) i think the corner store there still exist..

Can't afford a jointer myself so, like you, I use the power planer for some "rough" jointing. But never fooled around with the attachments; sipat-sipat lang. Now you've given me a great idea...

if you will be looking for the edge guide for the bosch planer, go to dasmarinas st..binondo..just very the near the bridge (if you are coming from sta cruz church, you will find on the right side a bosch service center...look for allan, chinaman, they have good old stock new bosch items..i didnt say they offer them cheaper than elsewhere..jaja!

The elusive Bosch Rat Tail 5" grinder. Specially chosen to do wire wheel / brush duty because of it's excellent anti vibration & anti kickback properties. Will be loaded with a 4" cup wire brush later.

Heard 'round the web that there's going to be a plunge base for the ubiquitous bosch colt/gmr1 router- ain't that great! (Or at least that's the case for the U.S. =/ ) It's on PDF-page 71 or page 233 in the catalog item #PR011. http://www.boschtools.com/AboutBoschTools/RequestProductLiterature/Documents/2012%20Catalog%20PDF/07_Wood_MetalCutting_web.pdf

I've looked for a plunger before- perhaps it was blessing-in-disguise that the old school hitachi tr-8 at hans only takes the now obscure 8mm bits and thus that thing didn't follow me home...

how good's the rotary hammer when it comes to chiseling concrete? is it as controlled as the manual cold chisel/concrete nail tiktik system?

reason i'm asking is that i have a lot of concrete to remove: slabs to cut a hole through for fire escapes, doorjambs to be chiseled out of cement, hollow block walls to shorten, embedded drain pipes to expose, and tiles to remove.
i have a bosch demo hammer, but baka masira yung slab or biga. alternatives are smaller chipping hammers or biggish rotary hammers. the smallest makita chipping gun i saw looks almost as fearsome as the demo hammer, so the choice is between rotary hammer and one those 7-8k generic chipping guns.
i didn't see any bosch/makita/hitachi chippers at that size range - only rotary hammers - ibig bang sabihin in a given weight class yung rotary hammer na branded's as good as a generic chipper?

The rotary hammer drill chisel is useless without the attachments ... LOL. I decided to check the local as well as the US markets for SDS plus chisels. Milwaukee, Dewalt and others. In the end I settled for Bosch chisels. Best bang for the buck.

I wanted a short and slim body 5" angle grinder. The requirements are that it has to have an M14 spindle and in 220 volts. There were 2 grinders in my list that fitted. The Metabo W8-125 and the Bosch GWS 11-125CI. Both are locally available.

The Metabo has a Clutch System while the Bosch has Kick Back Stop. In the end I chose Bosch because it has more power @ 1100 Watts compared to the 850 watts Metabo. However I note that both tools are excellent German Made angle grinders.

I wish Bosch Philippines will also come out with the GWS 14-125CI angle grinder which is variable speed.

Here's the Bosch angle grinder gang now. They will be parked in the welding table.
