Look at the difference in size of these bits, the spiral bit of Guhring was dwarfed by the Cleveland Stub bit...:D:p

For the sizes you mentioned I just buy new ones.
It all depends on what material you want to drill and proper usage. Feed pressures , correct speed , use of coolant where applicable etc ...
Try to give more details on what you do so more members can chime in.

Early birthday present on the left (DeWalt bradpoints), and on the right, probably
my favorite brand/make of HSS bits (KYK) w/c I bought at a local hardware store:
the KYK's are a good balance of performance and affordability: should the workers
break 'em (as they do when they borrow them, and regularly), I don't rage...
I just buy another set.
