The recent tool that I have purchased was Zircon StudSensor e50-FFP. I have been searching for such a tool for a very long time in order to find the edge of the wood, metal studs and beams behind walls, ceilings or floors. I have made my choice after reading the review at this https://themostspruce.com/tools/stud-finder/best-stud-finders/ site, by the way. If you are thinking of buying it I can recommend checking Amazon, because they have a good discount price now.
