Here's my recent acquisitions, finally two new welding helmets from ESAB, one is a Passive Helmet with large flip up welding visor shade # 10 and an Auto Darkening Helmet, my first one, its a non battery but with large solar cells and sensors plus other great features to boot. 😉

Each helmet is wrapped in plastic, plus their own user's manual. Purchased also an extra lens of shade #8 for the Globe Arc.

Simple, cool and classic designs with great features to boot. A good investment IMHO for eyes and face protection during welding and metal fabs.

Let's have some features of each helmet !!

I'll start with the GLOBE ARC.

The very first line of defense, this very large front protective lens of shade #10 protects the eyes while welding. This lens can be replaced with a lighter or darker shades, depends on ones need. It can also be flipped up or down.

When the first lens is flipped up, there is the second line of defense, a shaded face shield protects the whole/entire face when grinding or cutting metal like plasma or oxy-ace cutting is required.

These two light weight lens protects the welder from IR and UV lights during metal fabs.

And these are what you see from the inside to the outside viewing lens.

This is what you see from the inside when the first lens/visor is down, there is a sort of a peep window below to see what you are welding then just a little down movement of the head you get your eyes protected during resumption of welding, keeping both hands also free.

And this is what you see from the inside when the first shaded lens/visor is totally up, this light shaded lens protects the whole face from sparks during grinding and cutting metals. I think mine is shade 2 or 3. No need to wear shaded eye glasses.

The ratcheting adjustment strap is so cool, well built, front and back are padded for extra comfort to the fore head and back. Larger knob too for easy adjustment.

This yellow pvc flip-up lens holder secures the outer lens/visor tightly and has an upper retention stop that prevents the visor from dropping down while welding or grinding. The whole body/shell construction is made from extremely strong Zytell material which offers a full face and head protection whilst being very lightweight.

Esab is a good respectable manufacturer in the welding world. Given a chance I'd love to try out some of their products too like their welding mask.

hehehe, thanks bugel, pwede namang hindi pang wish list lang yan, if you want some things to become a reality, try saving some money for it continuously, unti unti and in no time may pang bili kana ng napupusuan mong tool or gadget.

For me it was not an instant purchase, nag ipon, nag hintay at nag research rin what's a fair priced good helmet that I can buy, and I ended up choosing ESAB brand helmets.
:glassesf: E medyo nag sasalamin na tayo so I have to get a good protection for my eyes while welding or doing metal fabs, hehehe. :2thumbsup:

AND TO CONTINUE WITH THE OTHER WELDING HELMET's FEATURES :

This is the NEW TECH 9-13 ADC Plus

The viewing window has two sensors and the cartridges are powered by large solar cell just above the viewing window and automatically activated by daylight. So there is no need to switch ON or OFF. Also it requires no battery changes.
The ADC Plus stands for "Angular Dependence Compensation", a technology that ensures the selected shade covers the full width and height of the LCD screen. The PLUS is for the improved color definition and contrast throughout the cartridge.

The helmet shell is designed to give more protection to the face, neck and ears. The area in front of the mouth is made larger to ensure a good flow of fresh air and low levels of carbon dioxide.

ESAB series of New Tech ADC Plus helmets are ANSI approved and adjustment knob is external for easy reach.The unique silver gloss finish reflective shell and shape helps to deflect welding fumes and heat and increases helmets' resistance to high temperature thus reducing temperature buildup within the helmet.

The head gear strap is again well made with front and back sweat bands, also with large adjustment knob.

And this is how clear you will see the images outside when you are wearing the welding hood.

This is not a review of the helmets but just citing its features and there are more great features stated for these two helmets.
