Hey bro JayL, do I see now you've got your Chicago Electric 1/16" electrodes ? Well I suppose you can now practice using them on some scratch metals before using them on your current shelving projects.

I just wonder what will be cheaper and faster to use now, using Mig wires or using the thin stick welding electrodes ?

I think it would be MIG. Those electrodes are not cheap as you well know. The top branded ones will even be more expensive.

Faster - Gas MIG ..... no slag.

Yes, its HiTronic Arc 300, an inverter machine as well made by RILAND. Its one of the five major products manufactured by SHENZHEN RILAND INDUSTRY CO.,LTD. Like Riland, Rilon, T&R, Good, this HiTronic machine is considered also as one of their heavy duty welders. :victory:

What I got inside the heavy big box aside from the welder. The heavy duty cables, 3 meters each, the heavy duty electrode holder and ground clamp, the owner's manual and then a free shoulder bag from HiTronic.

In this pic, I am just showing you the very big difference in size of the HiTronic compared to my existing Yamato 200 amp DC inverter.

I have tested this machine at GoldPeak, owned/headed by coolmaxheric, and it welds well with the use of 6013 rods of 1/8" and a 3/32". Though I have not used it yet because I am still in search of a good heavy duty electric plug. Got this machine first week of December, a sort of an X'mas gift to myself,
I suppose I will start using this machine comes January 1st using different welding electrodes and see how it performs. It has a one year warranty too from the supplier. I was before considering to have the Riland 250 from LY, but their selling/asking price was too much for me, sobrang mahal for a stick welder.

Though I'm kinda excited to try and use the machine but really holding up the eagerness, anyway January 1st is just around the corner so I'll wait, wait wait 'til that day arrives and then boom, test the machine almost everyday with different welding electrodes. What good thing about this machine is that I have a one year warranty for free parts replacement and service in case something/s goes wrong.

Yes its 100 amps more than the Yamato. With regards to the duty cycle, based on the owner's manual, its 100 %( A/V ) ability to work = 231/29.3 and its 60%( A/V ) ability to work = 300/32.

I decided on this 300 amperage since I have already an AC 300 amps Yamato, so now I have an AC and DC stick arc welder. I was contemplating on the RILAND 250A from LY in Recto but their selling price is to much for me, its more than 5 times the price of the Yamato DC Inverter we have. 😮

Anyway, price of the HiTronic 300A welder is 3 times the price of the YAMATO DC Inverter we have.
Its Php 18,400.00, very much cheaper than the other sellers of the same brand I have seen sa sulit. Plus lots of goodies from Heric himself. Quite a nice and hard working guy if I should say so myself.
