Yes v, there are several alternatives beside the " gunting na yero " or the aviation nips sold in hardware store. I too have been wanting to own one for so long since it will be very useful for me when I start using aTIG welder for my intended brass or copper sculptures.

It is called thin sheet straight metal shear which can cut 20 gauge up to 12 gauge thick.
Makita, Dewalt, Bosch makes then and they are quite expensive too, I have researched this at Amazon and prices would range from $ 200 to $ 350. Locally I saw some at HANS TOOLS lately, its a Makita and IIRC ITS Php 16K more or less. I just don't know in other industrial stores if they have this kind.

Can it do curves as well as the straight cuts?

Yes bro Jay, this tool is a must for metal DIYers like us, it will beat the " gunting na yero " or the tin snips, and I personally think this shear is much much better than a sheet nibbler. I will be needing this badly in the future when I start cutting brass or copper sheets. :banana1:

I think you should have one also since you plan to make some pull out drawers using sheet metals. This straight shears can cut gauge 20 up to gauge 14 thick, it can cut straight or curve lines depending on the model or brand you choose.

yes sir, the kett metal shears is a good option i got one before at a hardware along aurora blvd and it cuts very cleanly but wont make turns as easily. another shear that i have is a bosch single blade shear gsc 28, that one allows for tighter turns in the cut but leaves a small amount of warpage on the metal, another option is a plasma cutter, i make cleaner straight cuts using a plasma cutter and a non conductive guide, just need to make the cut quickly and a steady hand helps.....i have a pneumatic nibbler but i don't think the punch will last if used on stainless.....
